A4 page changes to Letter size

Ian
I am using Access 97 SR1, when I move my database to another PC some or all
of the reports change from English A4 to American Letter. I am sure this has
been addressed many times but I cant find any references to it, any help
would be appreciated.

(Sorry if I have sent this twice, also having problems with news groups,
most of the time I get "unrecognis ed response from server", I wonder if
there is a news group about problems with news groups, or is that an off
subject question?)

Have a look at My computer > printers > printer properties. You will probably
find the default paper size is set to letter

Sorry, have a look where? On My Computer I just have a list of drives, on
the Control Panel I can see the printers but cant see where you would set
the default paper size?

When these reports change size they change permanently, I have to go to each
report individually in Access and set them back to A4.

I am using Windows XP, under each printer name I have Preferences, my main
and default printer is a Minolta 3100 which is set to A4, but another
printer was set to Letter.

Do you think this setting on its own would cause the problem? I have not
printed anything, just in the middle of writing an Access report when
several or all of the reports change to letter, more often this happens when
moving between drive or PC's?

Thanks for your help.

OK, today's email brought a comment from a reader, pointing out something that I'd long since noticed myself but hadn't done anything about it. On my pages, I've got a first-letter style on paragraphs. So far, so good: some of the paragraphs begin with a link, and there are styles in the stylesheet for link, hover etc. The first letter is still displayed as styled for the paragraph's first-letter.

I am trying to deploy my first asp.net app to our webserver (2K server, IIS 5) My start page comes up and you can get to the subsequent pages that are tied into our sql server (2K). Each page has a datagrid that loads up just fine, but when I click on any link that updates the page, i.e. a column header to sort the database, it returns a 404 error. Any ideas why it works the for the inital load and not on a postback?

I have reports that are designed to where it doesn't matter if the region using the program uses a letter sized paper or A4 sized. I have the width to be just slightly over 7", so the reports work with either paper size. However, in Access 2007, one of my testers in Australia is now getting a beep from his printer telling him to change paper to letter sized. The reports worked fine in Access 97, but in 2007, he's getting the printer...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
