Our graphic designer is developing our new company website. We have switched
providers and currently she is working on the new website which currently
ressides on the new providers server as they support the ASP development
environment. Their server is a Win2K3 server.
She is writing an ASP module to connect to an MS Access 2000 database and is
having problems connecting. In this database there is only one table.
She has tried many...

This past weekend I upgraded a server from SQL 7.0 to SQL 2000. This is an
NT server. Service Pack 3a was also installed as well the cumulative
security patch. SQL Server is in mixed mode (as it was before the upgrade).
The upgrade went fine..no problems. Jobs ran, power users accessed the
database directly and through their application.
However, Monday morning all users who were not local Windows administrators
on the server could...

I have a project where the GUI is in VB.NET, the libraries
in unmanaged C++ which is wrapped in managed C++ and
compiled as DLL.
The application runs fine on Windows 2000 with VC++
development environment installed, but fails to load on
any Windows 2000 system with only the .NET Framework
(tried .NET Framework SDK too) installed.
Tried suggestions given in "Mixed DLL Loading Problem"

Hi All,
I wrote a code to do serial communication with an equipament.
When i use the code outside of threaded class it seens work properly,
but when i put inside a class and execute a thread in the first seconds the
communication is ok, later i receive read/write error.
I?ve been in MSDN site and there i discover that the read/write error is a
INVALID_HANDLE problem. But why??? I just create the serial communication
file and use it....

Hi!
I'm currently developing a DLL that makes use of C++ and .net (mixed) using
Visual Studio 2003.
Now, as I wanted to move to the new Visual Studio 2005, I converted this
project into the new format (compiling with /clr:OldSyntax): everything works
and compiles fine.
Unfortunately, I cannot link to the newly created DLL from any other
application/DLL: LNK2019: unresolved external symbol. I've checked the DLL

Role-based security for an ASP/ASP.NET mixed environment
Hello:
My co-worker and I have been charged with designing role-based security
for our intranet. The technologies we have to work with are ASP and
ASP.NET. This security design must support *both* technologies.
Currently, we have a successful collection of both ASP and ASP.NET
applications with an identical look and feel; you'd only know they are
different by virtue of an ASP...

Hi All,
I have an unmanaged C++ application that references a mixed mode image
DLL (mixed managed and unmanaged). Under .NET 1.1 we could trust the
dll (the mixed mode dll) by running the following command line:
caspol.exe -polchgprompt off -machine -addgroup 1 -url "file://<UNC
path to dll>\mixedMode.dll" FullTrust ame "GroupName" -polchgprompt on

Production environment: Windows 2000 Server SP4 running IIS5 and not used

The two environments are on different networks with no trust relationship
between them. In both environments the web server is set up to disallow
anonymous access and to use integrated...

Hey there, this will be somewhat a long post, but any response is
appreciated!
I have done many PInvoke in the past from C++ to C#, but I did PInvoke
within C# not C++/CLI.
Can someone explain more why C++/CLI would be better to PInvoke than doing
the PInvoke in
C#?
Because, usually in C# as you already know we use DLLImport and extern

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...
