Sir,
I have implemented asynchronous replication on 2 database located in 2
different system. I did it with Replication Management GUI Tool.
Before explaining the error i will explain my replication environment.
The details of the systems are
Hostname1- node2 Hostname2- node3
ip address- 192.168.0.232 id adress- 192.168.0.236
DB name- apple DB name- ibm

I am trying to figure out the best way to handle a system with lots of
roaming laptops wanting to take the data with them.
I have the following requirement:
Web server (possibly several) which holds main database and everyone
connects to (PHP web site with updates)
Lots of laptops (up to 50) take copies of the master data with them to work
on locally (Same PHP web site)
Laptops now connect back online after making local updates and...

Hello All
We intend to replicate a database in order to have it as a near immediate
standby in case of the failure of the main server.
Is this the best solution for disaster recovery?
We are currently testing our replication plan. When we set up the
subscriber, a snapshot of the publisher is created and this takes hours. Is
there a better way?

Dear community,
for some reason the post I sent yesterday night still did not show up on
the mailing lists. I have set up some links on the developers side under
http://developer.postgresql.org/~wieck/slony1.html
The concept will be the base for some of my work as a Software Engineer
here at Afilias USA INC. in the near future. Afilias is like many of you
in need of reliable and performant replication solutions for backup and
failover...

I am currently investigating MS Access replication, my initial thought
is to use 'Indirect synchronisation' due to remote disconnected client
base. With this conclusion, I am presuming the 'Replication Manager',
which is part of the MOD edition will be required.
My only concern is that we will probably purchase a copy of Office
2003 MOD edition, and the Project itself will be developed in Access
2000 due to all clients using 2000....

Hi
I have a front-end/back-end access app. I have created a replication set
between the backend on a server an the backend on a laptop. My question is;
How can I cause the synchronisation to happen via code? Basically I need to
give the user an option to press a button (or menu option) on the laptop
when the laptop is connected to the server/network for synchronisation to
happen.
Thanks

Hi folks,
I'm totally not familiar with DB2 databases, but for a project at work
I need to synchronize a MS SQL database with a DB2 database. The MS SQL
server is (offcourse) on a Windows 2003 server, while the DB2 database
is on a non-windows environment.
Now I wonder what is the best way to accomplish
synchronisation/replication? Is there a built-in tool to do this, will
I need third party software, or will I need to write my own

Hi, hoping someone can help.
The situation is that an app I designed is installed on a desktop PC and six
laptops, separately, which synchronise to the desktop once a day at random
times.
I have two questions:
1) Is it advisable to not have the design master as the mothership but have
a replica on the desktop where the backend is named, e.g., replica of

Rightyho, I am in need to set up an indirectly (offline laptop-usable) synchronising database system without access to run server side processes. It looks to already work, but for testing purposes only on 3 laptops at the present time (ultimate goal - 7 to 20). In the following way;
1. Design Master resides on a network folder
2. A replica of design master (affectionately called 'replica master') resides on a network folder. Replicas are...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
