Problem w/MSINET.OCX in Acc97 runtime

Iam trying to distribute a runtime Acc97 program using the ODE, Wise
Installer, and SageKey scripts. Everything has been working great
until I recently tried to include the MSINET.OXC internet control on
one of my new forms.

No matter what I do or haow I change any of the scripts or if I even
try to overtly register this control, I continue to get the message

"There is no object in this control"

I have checked all the depnedencies and they appear to all be
installed and registered properly.

Does anyone have any suggestions or can they help me with any
dependency files I may have missed.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

I have nothing specific about this OCX, but in general I always use
depends.exe that ships with Visual Studio 6 to check dependencies.

To all,

I figured out the problem. It was related to my stupidity and the fact
that the person who wrote the code did it in VB5 or 6 and used the
MSINET.OCX from VB instead of the one you nromally use from the Tools
items in Access.

I have written a web server application using ASP.Net that handles requests from an HTTP client. I wrote a small test client in VB6 using the MSINet ActiveX control, to load test the server. The client makes repeated requests of the server and keeps track of the number per second it is able to get processed. When I run both the client and server on one machine, I get about 150 per second. When I move the client to another machine on my LAN, the...

I use MSINET.OCX in my VB.NET applicatoin. I've registered (by regsvr32) and added it into reference for COM interop. The application works at the PC with both VB 6 and VS.NET installed. But it fails with error "Class is not licensed for use" in the PC with VS.NET installed only. Does anyone know whether I have anything missed? Thank you very much!

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
