Access and Calendars

Hello all,

I have been asked to design a database in MS Access 2000. One of the
requirements is that there is a calendar that displays its data in the form
of a timeline. Would an ActiveX control sort this out? If so, where would I
get one that could do this?

Thanx in advance,

Adonis.

See the Calendar Tips page at my website.

There could, likely will, be lots of version problems when you go to distribute the
MSCal.OCX..

Some alternatives are:
MonthCalendar is a completely API generated Month Calendar derived directly from
the Common Control DLL.
There are several downloadable calendar forms at the Links page at my website.
As these are forms you can also do anything with them you want.

You can also use the calendar form which comes in the Access <insert your version
here> Developers Handbook by Litwin/Getz/Gilbert, publisher Sybex
www.developershandbook.com. These books are well worth spending money. Every time I
open one I save the price of the book.

I am looking for a calendar program or script to set up calendars for my low income business based site. I want to put regular events and such. I want to make it available to most web audiences (so would have to be simple programming wise). Trying to find a free source that will be easier then hard coding a table to do the job. Any ideas? thanks,

Hi there I have avoided to use active x controls because I thought they are causing more problems then they are doing any good. I a new application I would want to use the tree and list view control in access 2002. Prior to that I like to fine some information or here some feed back from developers who have use active x controls success fully in there application, what their experience was.

I currently have a form in MS Access that has certain combo boxes which specify criteria in order to run a query based on that criteria. I want to add to this, a calendar from which a user will be able to click on a date, where the chosen date will then be used as the criteria for the control source of the calendar. What do I need to do to make the calendar active?? I can physically get it on my form, and specify the criteria in my...

Hi, We need a Gantt chart type calendar for Access 97 (and soon, Access 2003). We need it to list the days of the month (for a date range) going horizontally across the top, the names of the rooms and the names of who is in those rooms (and how many people are in them) as the detail records. The rooms would be listed vertically, with the room information listed under the appropriate days of the months.

I have a form that has 12 Calendar, 1 for each month. I am retrieving information from a database separately, assigning them to an array and then in the DayRender Event, itterating through the array to mark the days that I have in the database for each calendar. Basically a year view of what dates are blocked and what days are free. Booking calendar. The problem is that when the page posts back, the first 11, Jan-Nov, calendars work. ...

SQL Server will be used as the back-end database to a non trivial client application. In question is the choice of client application: I need to be able to speak intelligently about when one client (MS Access vs ..NET Windows Forms) would be preferred over the other. While I have some good arguments on both sides, I would appreciate your points of view on the topic.

I'm using this calendar: http://www.dynarch.com/projects/calendar/. I have three calendars on a page, and I need to "link" them together so that if I select a month in one calendar, the two following months are selected in the other two, so that you always get three correlative months in the calendars. Is that possible somehow? Also, I need to add a new row at the end of the calendar with an "OK" button to close the calendar, how can I...

I have been looking for information on creating new custom calendars; not the control, but the class that manages dates and date calculations. The only thing I've been able to find in any of the MS documentation or newsgroups is that you _can_ derive custom calendars from System.Globablization.Calendar, but not a word on what you would need to do to accomplish that. Has anyone ever done or seen any custom calendar implementations? I'd...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
