I had wanted to ask what's going on around here since I've been gone.
I'm glad that Tony started this thread so I could pitch in my support
for David. Over the last 7 years, a few names stand out here at
comp.databases. ms-access, and David Fenton is one of them.

Folks, from this post we can conclude that Tony is either
morally corrupt or blind. Fenton's many technical contributions
to the group cannot and never will serve to excuse the FACT that
he publicly fantasises about little boys' private parts.
Ignoring the FACTS cannot hide your shame.

Hopefully, David's contributions are patently obvious to all, and hopefully,
all trolling regarding David and others is equally transaprent to all.
Notice that the trolling started up again shortly after a few people were
chided for posting messages asking for work or advertising openings for work
as prohibited by the CDMA charter. It seems that this trolling is intended to
punish the group for having and enforcing this charter which the troller(s)
disagree with. Obviously, this person or people are paranoid, vindictive
types with too much time, and not enough purpose in life.

Like many others here, I have no idea what is going on. It is very
obviously some sort of personal vendetta against Fenton. Someone who has
nothing meaningful to post and conceals his identity, as this "anonymous"
character does, has absolutely no credibility whatever.

Very easy for you to praise Fenton's technical contributions, I
see.
Also very easy for you to support a homosexual pervert that
publicly fantasises about naked little boys.
Are you as morally bankrupt as so many others in this group seem
to be?

Good point. I should restate that.
He has contributed more than many to this newsgroup.

hi there,
over the last few days i have posted a few questions about some non-standard C

that this was not the correct place to ask such questions.
is now know this newsgroup is a "C Standard Library" newsgroup, rather than a
"general questions about C" list. it took me a few days to realise this... and i
will therefore not bother the list again unless i have...

I was thinking it might be a good idea to split this newsgroup into
different newsgroups, depending on the version of VS C++.NET being
discussed. Thus, there would be 2002, 2003, and 2005 newsgroups instead of
just one for all. This would at least end any confusion if someone asks a
question and doesn't state which version they are using (which of course can
change the answer to such questions).
Just a thought...

Hello!
I'm writing this message over Google web access. I'm trying to access
to the comp.lang.python newsgroup trough the Thunderbird, but I just
can't configure it properly. What is the news server for this
newsgroup. If I ping comp.lang.python it is not resolved. For instance
I had no problem configuring Eclipse news server. I just entered
news.eclipse.org as a news server address and after it I can browse
available groups.

Hi, I'm using the web based reader at
http://www.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups to read this newsgroup and I
was having some problems finding the newsgroup inside the huge hierarchy of
groups.
Is there any particular reason why this group is "hidden" inside/below
"English -Developer Discussions -Data Access Components -.NET Framework
-ASP.net"?
Especially the "Data Access Components" Folder makes it hard to find this
group.

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
