I am getting strange print-related error messages when trying to create (not print!) reports. For example, when I click 'new' to create a report then choose 'design view', I get an error message that says: 'There was a problem retrieving printer information for this object. The object may have been sent to a printer that was unavailable.' When I choose 'report wizard', I can go through all of the steps but then I get an error message...

I have an Access 97 database that has graphs installed on a PC with both Office 97 and Office 2000. I know other people are aware of this - the database automatically uses Graph 2000 instead of Graph 97. The Graph objects in the database were automatically converted to Graph 2000 objects, even though they were created in Graph 97. This creates huge problems with some of the reports that use complex graphs, because the computer runs out...

I've seen plenty of articles on this topic but none of them have been able to solve my problem. I am working with an Access 97 database on an NT4.0 machine, which has many Access reports. I want my users to be able to select a report, click on a command button on a form, which will then automatically create the report as a pdf file and save it to the user's machine. I am using Adobe Acrobat (5.0 I think) and have Adobe Distiller as a

Hi All, I am trying to support a location that is behind in MS versions. They are running MS Access 97 on Windows 98, which should be ok, however whenever they try to print reports which contain graphs, some print as black boxes. On preview though, the graphs are visible. I have tried 1) Different computers 2) Different printers 3) Changing the method of declaring the row source

For some reason, most but not all reports printing from an access application our client is using will not print any images on the reports or forms. One report will print the image and data correctly oddly enough. The image header is embedded using the Insert Image feature and not loaded into a database. I can move the image to anywhere in the report and still it will not print out. I've loaded the most recent printer drivers and...

Hi, I have 4 reports created in Ms-access and I will use VB to print those reports. My problem is I'm not sure if I can control wich report to print.. Those reports are almost the same, what is different is the logo in the report header or page header. Because there are 4 different logo. I want the user to choose in VB which logo to use and then VB will print the report that the user chose.

Hello. I use MS Graphs nested in reports, extensively. They show subset of report's recordset by linking master/child fields. While reports are based on pass-through queries (PostgreSQL), my graphs are based on local tables which content is refreshed from pass-through queries. The reason for that is because I determined that it is 20 times faster than to base graphs directly on pass-through queries. In order to avoid known problem with...

Here is how you create a complex data report that involves parent and child commands and you can update information at runtime. Its pretty straight forward to work with simple queries; however, working with complex reports is tricky Assumption: Reader of this article have basic knowledge of creating data reports. I have a report with graphs, and this report retreives data from a table that is specified by a where-string-generating form (Access 2003). My problem: the graphs are based on the criteria entered into the form including month and year. The graphs currently only represent the month and year of the last record displayed in the report. For example, if the report includes records that have months of June, July, and August, the graphs only...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
