Disabling Security Warning Box

I want to disable the security warning box that appears when I open a
DB. It asks if I want to open this file. It is annoying.

I understand that I am suppose to change the macro security settings.
However, I cannot see a security menu under Tool -> Macro.

I have installed the JET 4 SP8

Thanks.

Mark, try resetting this menu.

With the database window selected, right-click beside the toolbars and
choose Customize.
Select the Menu Bar, and click the Reset button.

This should let you chose the Low security option.

Hello. Is there any way to force low security (to eliminate start up security warnings) in a runtime implementation?

Thanks,

Audrey Cole

Allen: Thanks for your help. Resetting did not add the security. I had to go and add it "manually". Hi Before anyone blasts me for posting a question that the solution clearly appears in the help file, please read on. I keep getting the Security Warning : Opening.. x database may not be safe, because it could contain harmful code, etc. We all know the warning. Help says : Go to Tools menu, Macro and click on Security. (Running Office 2003). One slight problem, I don't have the 'security' option as listed.

Hi I used the code below to automatically open a pdf file when the user clicks on a menu option. It works great on local machine, but when I uploaded it to hosting site and then tried it, I get a 'File download-security warning' window popping up that ask if I want to download or open the file. It wants to download the aspx page itself , instead of the pdf file. I'd would like it to offer to open the pdf file, or avoid this security

One of my customers is running an Access 2003 application. They have the Macro Security Level set to Low. When the .mde app is executed directly from the C: drive on their server, they get into the application just fine. When they execute the app from a mapped network drive (a link to the app on the C: drive), they get get the Security Warning and have to click on Open to get into the application. I have seen this same app run at...

I helped a friend setup an Access database which is accessed from two computers on a 3-PC peer-to-peer network. On the 2nd PC there is a shortcut on the desktop that points to the database on the 1st PC. This has worked for many months. Today, when he tried to use the shortcut he got a "Open File - Security Warning" dialog box and following that through Access did not start. There is a KB Article ID: 889815 that refers to a Security...

How do I get rid of the generic Windows "Open File - Security Warning" that appears when I try to open a database that resides on another PC on my home network? This is not the annoying macro security warning - I have my macro security set to low. The warning I am describing only appears when a database on another machine is opened.

Hello, I am completely stuck here. Basically, I am serving a file to the user by sending it using Respnse.BinaryWrite. I am also sending this on a redirected page so as not to destroy the Response stream of the webpage which fired the filedownload. This works perfect on my development machine, it also works perfect on Firefox. However, if I publish to my test server, on IE 8 (and 7 I presume) a security warning bar appears (does not appear...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
