automating email from Access 2.0

MLH
I'm looking for Access Basic code I can use with Access 2.0
to automate sending email using Outlook Express.
The body text will always be "Your invoice is attached."
The Attachment control on the form in which you compose
your email will get a different string value for each email,
pointing to pdf file containing customer invoice (full path 'n
filespec). Any old code out there you care to share?

Good point, Larry. I don't have more than 20 customers and
they ALL know me - have my phone number memorized & all
that junk. I don't think it will be a prob. But if they all stop
paying me, then I'll know you were right!

I'm using the SendObject Action in Access 2.0 (Method in 97).
That should take care of the attachment - but, as you can see
in my later postings this evening - it isn't. It really should work.
I don't understand why it's not.

Maybe it's more reliably implemented through OutLook rather
than OutLook Express. However, I can't find any help for "DDE"
in either of the two programs. I don't even know the name of
the executable that launches MS OutLook. I have a long way
to go here.

Good to hear from you again.

I can tell you that you'd better use more than that text, as it is almost
identical to the text in e-mails that is being used to spread worms and
viruses. I remember using MAPI at a customer site, about ten years ago, with
Access 2.0 to send e-mail, but I don't think OE was involved, and I never
had my own copy of the code. Sorry.

Hi, I know about stored procedures and that they can speed up data entry via the SQL 'insert ' statement. However, one drawback to this method is that using the stored procedure still requires one to manually and individually enter each and every record to be inserted to the database before the procedure is executed. I want to circumvent...

Hi folks, We have an Access 2000 app that is highly integrated with Outlook 2000 or later. The app allows the user to send predefined emails that are created through an Access form and stored in a table bound to that form. It all works great EXCEPT for one thing: Every time the user generates an email message to be placed into the...

I am in the process of rewriting an MS Access application (access front end with SQL 2k database) in VB.NET and one of the things I would like to do is link in to the compiled Access ADE so that I can use the reports that have already been created. I am using Access to analyze data in a remote SQL server. I cannot "link" these tables, because Access doesn't like the SQL's replication ID, so I need to import these table each time I run a report to ensure I get the latest data, therefore: I would like to run the following procedure, and assign it to a button on a form: 1) Delete the...

Just started working in Access, and while I'm fairly confident in the basics, or so I think, anything advanced doesn't work too well. I've got a task I know should be easy to automate, but I don't know how to. If someone could point me in the right direction it would be wonderful. I've got 35 tables to create by running a query that filters...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows.
