Basically I have this little program that will look through directories and
rename any file it finds. The renaming that takes place is like removing of
dashes or Caps the first letter from each word and so on. Is there a better
way to rename the files instead of creating a new file and calling
originalFile.renameTo(new File(newFilename)); Basically I want to know if
creating this new File each time will be costly in both memory and time...

Hi,
Ive got the following code which seems ok but when the user runs the
function for a second time I get an error message stating that the mdb
is in use by another process. There is still an ldb for the life of the
application even after calling oldebconnection.close and gc.collect.
Any ideas?

I have been trying to create a mock httpcontext for the
purpose of unit testing. I have a class, Customer, that
uses cookies. I have set it up to be able to take a
httpcontext as a parameter in an overloaded constructor.
I have seen a few references to people that have created
mock httpcontexts but I can not seem to get it to work.
This is what I have right now, it is the result of
working backwards from httpcontext and trial and...

Hi;
My ASP.NET app (C# calling J# under .net 2.0) creates a png file in a
subdirectory to display as part of the created page. However, the bitmap will
not display due to a security violation.
Everything is the default settings I believe. IIS is running under Local
System. In IIS the DefaultAppPool is running under Network Service.
Annonymous access uses the account IUSR_JASMINE (machine name is Jasmine).

Goal: : To improve an application's performance by basing sub forms and
combo
The application has a front and back-end. There is no SQL server
involved. I use a module for, seeking out the back-end and automatically
linking to the back-end in order that I might be able to provide
updates. This has worked for me since first setting everything up.
First let me define what I mean by, “sub form” as to how I am designing
my application. I...

OK. A bit behind the times, I know; but we're just moving over to .NET 2.0.
How on earth do you manage configuration settings in a class library in .NET
2.0? In version 1.1, we used a handy class called AssemblySettings that
someone (I forget his name) had written. When the class library was
finished, you deployed it to the GAC and put the configuration files in the
GAC with the class library assembly. This no longer works. In fact...

Hello, all.
I meet a question about compiling files.
Eg., I have three files named myfile.h, myfile.c and the main.c file,
and there is a function, ex, void myfun(...).
If I put myfun(...) in the main.c file like the following,
.....
void myfun(...)

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
