Am I right in thinking that... 1) in <redefine> I can either extend OR restrict a type but not both? 2) in <redefine> it's not possible to change a type from say <xs:string> to <xs:integer>? 3) if I have schema1.xsd with <xs:schema xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"

I'm trying to derive a schema from a base schema. I want to redefine a "group" from the base schema in my derived schema in order to add more options to the "choice" aggregate (see schema1.xsd sample). schema1.xsd sample: <!-- Here is a clipped down version of the group I want to redefine. --> <xsd:group name="INSURANCESVCRQMSGS"> <xsd:choice> <xsd:element ref="HomePolicyAddRq" minOccurs="1" maxOccurs="1"/>

Hello, We are developing C++ appplications for PDAs where memory is limited, so we want to do memory management by ourselves --- pre-allocated a big chunk and overwrite new and delete to call our APIs. The tricky thing simply redefine operator new and delete because the OS(PDA platform OS)library we need to link with in our application also redefined operator new/delete for some purpose. Simply redefine new/delete as following won't...

We are using ACORD xml schema standard, and we need to add to it, so we choose to redefine ACORD xml schema. One of the problems that I ran into is how to add some values to an emumerated list. For an emumerated list like this: <xsd:complexType name="AttachmentType"> <xsd:simpleContent> <xsd:restriction base="OpenEnum"> <xsd:enumeration value="040"/> <xsd:enumeration value="041"/>

Dear all, can I prohibit that my class will be passed by value (i.e created a copy on stack when function is called)? I want to prohibit passing my class by value. I thougth that declare a default constructor to private would do the job, but no. When myfunc is called some construcor goes called, but not the explicit one.I have noidea which one is it. I am running out of ideas. With best wishes, Boni Any ideas?

Does anyone have a simple example on how to prohibit that any thread other than the current thread modifies a certain object (a collection) while we are in a certain section of the code? In other words: while we are inside this codeblock whoever might think of modified that particular collection has to wait until we have left that codeblock. As far as I understand it lock() {} only prohibits that other threads enter a certain block of...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
