I refined my attempt a little further, and the following code does
seem to work, however it has 2 major problems:
1. Very limited support for XPath features
Basic paths are supported for elements, attributes, ".", and "..",
plus also the "" predicate format is supported -
however, only one predicate per path step is supported, and expr must
be a relative path.
2. Poor performance

Can this be done with XPath?
I have input XML that is basically of the form:
<list>

s1

s2

s3

s4

s5

Hi,
I am moving through an XML document using an XPath Navigator, and I'd
like to be able to get the xpath expression for the location of the
current node from the root node.
Any ideas how to do this? I was hoping for a property of the navigator
object, but I can't find it.....
Thanks in advance for any help!

When you are "working" on a specific node from a XmlDocument instance, is it
possible to get the full xpath to this node?

Hi;
I am sure I am missing something here but I cannot figure it out. Below I
have a program and I cannot figure out why the xpath selects that throw an
exception fail. From what I know they should work.
Also the second nav.OuterXml appears to also be wrong to me.
Can someone explain to me why this does not work? (This is an example from a
program we have where xpath can be entered in two parts so we have to be able

Hi All,
Does anyone know how to retreive deepest XPath value from XML document by using VB.NET? For example, if I had an XML file like this:
<Root>
<Customer>

</Customer>
</Root>
I would like to retreive "\Root\Customer\Name" out of it. Something like:

Hi, there!
As I understand the XPaht recommendation, the context node is a node;
not a node-list, not XPath object -- but a single node.
Now, the WS-BPEL 2.0 specification allows an XML simple type value to be
the context of an XPath expression, by converting it to an XPath object
-- either boolean, string or float.
I do not see how this is possible, but I would like your thoughts on it.

Hi;
In our program we will get an XPath statement such as:
${data}/SalesProject
Where ${data} and ${series} both stand for a XPathNavigator so each is
basically a specific node in a list of nodes that another XPath statement is
returning.
To evaluate this we basically build from the right to the left, stripping

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
