Hi all,
I just want to know why when I'm installing jdk sometimes ask me to
reboot and sometimes he don't. As part of our installation, we launch
the jdk installation if it's not already installed, so it's important
to know when the user will be asked to reboot.
Thanks

We are facing a problem with a Service we developed. It does not start
after a re-boot. We can Start/Stop the service from the interfacing
Application and the Services Control Panel all day long. But it does
not start after a reboot.
Details
We have implemented the Service using CAtlServiceModuleT (ATL 7.0).
For initialization and un-initialization, we have overridden the
PreMessageLoop and the PostMessageLoop. In the initialization...

I believe I have all the appropriate code for AdjustingTokens etc an

is failing with 'Access Denied'
In my machine.config, I have already set the userName to 'System' as

I have a new laptop that appears to be setup identically to the old one. I'm
working on an ASP page that sends an email. On the old machine the emails
are send just fine (CDO or CDONTS). However the new machine holds everything
in the queue folder until I reboot. After reboot, everything in the queue is
sent, but all new messages from the web page are again queued. I'm running
w2k sp4, iis 5, not using a smart host. The event viewer...

I have a small console app that started out in dotnet 1.1 in VS 2003. That
version can be copied to a W2K3 server where it runs fine.
I set up a new project in VS 2005 and copied the code files from 2003 to
2005 where they compile and run, no problem. When I copy the two files (exe
& dll) to the same W2K3 server they fail with the Strong Name Verification
Failed error. After running the console contains: "Unhandled Exception:...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
