On your old monitor you probably had a standard lower resolution and now that you connected a new monitor (probably widescreen) that resolution will look terrible. You can fix it by doing the following

Right click on your desktop
Select properties.
In the Display Properties window (the one that just opened) select the Settings tab.
Find the group box that says Screen resolution and increase the slider to the right (towards the "More" side)
Click Apply.

You may need to play around with some of the different resolutions to find the one that you like. Let me know if you have any problems (or this doesn't fix it).

There are several ways to watch TV on your monitor, but If its connected to your PC I would only recommend one way of doing this and that is having a TV tuner card into your PC. You can then from your computer watch TV and even record shows. Search google for articles regarding making your PC a DVR (digital video recorder). I have done this for one of my PC's and I love it, but you will probably need to buy computer card and you will need to install it. I would check to see if your monitor has any HDMI ports. If your monitor does have HDMI ports you can connect a DVD player that has an HDMI port directly to it. Another option for watching TV on your monitor is by getting a separate tv turner device. I have had one of these as well, but you would need to constantly switch your monitor connection each time you wanted to watch TV/DVD vs using your computer.

I picked up a Hauppauge TV tuner card for ~50 USD. Ive seen TV tuner cards on sale in the price range of 25-35USD. The best advice is just start reading about converting your computer into a DVR and read a lot of reviews on different TV tuner cards. TV tuner cards are not created equal so read up! Also note that some TV tuner cards come with software that allows you to watch TV (like the Hauppauge card i got), but other cards do not. There is a free program online (I can't remember the name off the top of my head) that allows you to watch TV along with paid versions of different software. Again the best advice I can give is to read about the different programs as well as some provides features over others.

Hi, I'm trying to understand a situation where ASP seems to be "blocking" of "queuing" requests. This is on a Win2K Advanced Server, with IIS5. I've seen some posts (e.g., http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&selm=Tidy7IDbDHA.2108%40cpmsftngxa06.phx.gbl) that indicate that ASP will queue up requests when they come in with the same "session".

Hi all, We've just migrated to IIS 6.0 / Windows Server 2003. We are now experiencing some stability problem what we did not experience in IIS 5.0 / Windows 2000 Server. Our ASP.NET application is running in a web-farm environment of multiple web servers. We have been using "Performance Monitor" to monitor the "Requests in Application Queue" counter of "ASP.NET Apps v.1.1.4322" object. We have found the following pattern.

All, I can't seem to find a solution to this problem. I'm not sure if this is a Visual Studio problem, a .NET Framework problem, an IIS problem, or an ASP.NET problem, so please stick with me ... I had Visual Studio (the original) installed on my XP workstation. When Visual Studio 2003 came out, I installed that as well, leaving the old Visual Studio in place. All this time, I had no problems running ASP.NET apps, whether running...

Hey folks, I'm having a bit of an issue with how Windows Vista (or my ASUS notebook) handles closing my notebook lid. If I have an external monitor (my TV through S-Video) connected to my laptop, but not used, and I close my notebook lid, it switches over to the TV automatically -- changing the desktop resolution from 1440x990 (my notebook resolution) to 1024x768 (the TV resolution). When I open my laptop lid, the desktop is...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
