Hi everybody, this is my environment : Apache is installed on a Linux server
(RedHat9A) and
I launch the browser on a PC running WindowsXP to execute php scripts on the
Linux server.
I would run Win executables from this Linux-based Apache server.
Actually if I use exec() command running Linux commands, something like :
$command="mv /store1/www/file1.txt /store1/www/file2.txt";
exec($command, $ar_output, $res_command);

I have no idea if this is a Linux issue or PHP. Looking for clues here.
I have a PHP script which I use to upload a CSV spreadsheet into a
mySQL database. (The script follows here in a sec.)
I was using WindowsXP and MS Excel to take these sheets, edit it if
needed, and save it in text based CSV. Then use the PHP script to
upload it and insert into the DB.
Now I've eschewed Windows and am using Fedora Core 3. I've tried doing
the same...

Hai,
I am trying to install IBM DB2 8.1 on Red Hat linux 8.0. My
machine is Intel XEON 64bit. The installation went well except for the
creation of tools catalog. When I tried to install the tools catalog
as a post installation task I get some java error.
$ db2 CREATE TOOLS CATALOG SYSTOOLS USE EXISTING
DATABASE TOOLSDB FORCE SQL22209N The DB2 Administration Server
encountered an unexpected Java error on host "".
I have jdk1.3 already...

Crazy (possibly dumb) question here...
I have a site running apache, mysql, php in a Win2K environment.
Primary development is that env also. I also am setting up a linux box
(old laptop), to begin playing with Linux. I'd like to set it up
similiary with apache,mysql, php.
If I do that, and start doing some development there (Linux box) - can
I expect that when I move the php code to the windows box that it will
behave similarly...

I've been wrestling on and off with this problem for over a year now,
without success. Basically, I am looking for a simple set of screen
and keyboard manipulation commands that will run identically under
Linux and Windows. Nothing fancy - just clear the screen, print a
string at an arbitrary xy position and detect a keystroke. I've
googled around this newsgroup and elsewhere, and come across various
suggestions (and even posted my own...

C/C++ Programs and Debugging in Linux
This tutorial will give you a basic idea how to debug a program in Linux using GDB. As you are aware Visual Studio doesn’t run on Linux so you have to use some of the tools provided on the command-line. If you hate the command line tools, get over it since you’re bound to be using them at some point in your career. All commands in Linux ARE case sensitive so capital letters are different from lowercase...

Hi all,
I am writing a linux testbed for wireless sensor networks. The core objective is to test data transfer between any two nodes. The network runs using tree topology.
One node in the network is the "Driver". This node is connected using serial port to a linux PC. What I am trying to write is the software on this linux PC that will drive data transfer in the network.
The "Driver" node, taking commands from the software running on...

Project development is on Linux for Linux target, but we are using windows based VSS to maintain files. Incase if I want to check-in first time into VSS, first on Linux, create a tar file, transfer that tar file to windows, then untar back and check-in those folders into VSS from windows machine, also if I make any further changes in Linux for those files, transfer the file onto Windows, then check-out that file on VSS, overwrite with newly...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
