Even though I had my roots and highlights redone just a few days ago, I
don't understand why I appear to be having an ongoing blond moment.
Is it just me or do others among you not 'get' how to make C# and VB.Net
applications play nicely with the the UAC on Vista.
I have read and reread everything I can find on UAC, 'strong-naming' of
assemblies, 'authenticode signing' of assemblies and, even though I'm not

Read in one forum the question someone asked after successfully (sort of) installing Picture It 2000 on new computer with Vista. Will this person or any other help me accomplish this install on Vista, please.
I tried installing Picture It and it seemed to do so. I got no error messages but it sure took a long time. Then when I tried to open the program it said "access denied" adding that I needed 30 meg of disk space (implying I didn't)...

I set up a home network by adding a Vista Laptop to a XPHome SP2 Desktop via a D-Link Router.
The XP Desktop is connected via an ethernet cable and the Vista machine is wireless.
In the early days of setting it up I got access to the internet on both machines, could share files on the XP from the Vista....

Hi,
I'm having troubles installing NumPy on an AMD machine that runs 32-bit Vista.
During the install NumPy complains that it cannot find Python 2.5 in the registry.
Other packages have no problem finding the same, e.g. SciPy and matplotlib.
Anyone know a solution?

Hi all,
I've been struggling with an issue that I hope you can comment on or
provide suggestions to. Our .NET 2.0 (VS2005) based product is
crashing (when the user selects a particular feature on the UI) on
Vista. It works fine on XP. In a nutshell:
- user makes a selection on the UI
- System.Reflection.MethodInfo.Invoke() calls into one of our .NET
library dlls
- Inside the library dll, System.Activator.CreateInstance() is called

Im running into problems installing either VS 05 or 08 on a Vista
Premium 64 bit machine and, ahem, it isnt going sweetly.
When installing i get an
"Error 1935.An error occured during the installation of assembly
component" when installing either 05 or 08.
Vista Premium comes with .NET Framework 2.0 and Framework 3.5 which

I have created a Activex using C# 2.0 and i am deploying it to
user's machine through WebLogic app server.The activex gets downloaded
and registerd perfectly in case of all XP machines.
But now i am testing the same Activex download on Vista machine,It
failed to install if the UAC is enabled.
