Hello,

1. Open My computer.
2. Goto Tools --> Folder Options --> View
3. Select option "Show hidden files and folders".
4. Also, uncheck the option "Hide Protected Operating system files (Recommended)"
5. Click "Apply" and then click OK.
6. In My computer, click on 'folders' button on below menu bar (near search button).
7. In left pane, click on C:, D:, E: etc and search for all files named "autorun.in f" in all the drives and delete ALL of them.
8. Reboot (although this is not strictly required).

Hope this helps....

Hello,

Download Unlocker and install it.
Now that you had showed the hidden files, simply goto different non removable drives (c: , d: etc.) on your computer and look for files named aurorun.inf. Right click them and click 'Unlocker'. Then follow as instructed on unlocker's website.

Remember you must delete all autorun.inf from all the drives i.e. delete all files such as:
c:\autorun.inf
d:\autorun.inf
e:\autorun.inf

Hope this helps....

Hello,
@davidson1
There had been a lot of such cases that I handled personally which were all caused due to autorun.inf file. Either autorun.inf is regenerating itself or it probably not deleted. In either of cases I will like to have a screenshot of processes tab in task manager before I suggest anything.

Waiting for you to put a screenshot of task manager....

Hello,

I saw the screenshot and as it appears to me then there's nothing malicious running on your PC (although I may be wrong). I will like you to do this all again:

Remember you must delete all autorun.inf from all the drives i.e. delete all files such as:
c:\autorun.inf
d:\autorun.inf
e:\autorun.inf

Report back all the results...

Hope this helps....

I have an application with a backend database connected to front end via mapped drive. It is installed at my client's office. Occasionally they report a problem while opening an application first time, after turning computer on. An application cannot access linked table. But, after entering the build-in browser and relinking the tables, the problem disapears. This problem is not persistant, so I couldn't reproduce it. Also, drive mapping has not...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
