Would I be correct in saying that the only way to get a user message into a Windows form would be to use P/Invoke with Message? Of is there some part of the .NET API that I am totally un aware of? Thanks for any help Brian

I'm working with an SDK from a commercial software vendor and am using a sample Windows Application written in C# to learn the SDK (they do not have an ASP.Net example). I need to create an ASP.Net Web Application and have noticed that I'm having to ToString the object references. For example, the following works in the samle code: // Get the list from the server

Hi, I am doing some mathematical analysis on large numbers in C. The same code runs perfectly in Windows but produces unpredictable results in Unix (like negative numbers or very very big numbers). I am using 'long' data type which is sufficient to hold the largest data in the program. I checked the 'sizeof(long)' in both the OS which is same (=4).

Hi, I've written a program which has both a command line interface and Windows form interface, however it isn't quite working correctly. When run from command line with no arguments it should display the Windows form. The form is being displayed but the command only returns when the form is closed. I want the command line to return immediately, leaving the form displayed.

I've been having a problem debugging an ASP.NET 1.1 application on an existing Windows XP/Visual Studio 2003 workstation that I've inherited from somebody else. The application builds fine, but when I try to debug, it gives me the message: Error When Trying to Run Project: Unable to Start Debugging on the Web Server. Debugging failed because integrated Windows authentication is not enabled. Now, the obvious solution for this of course...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
