hello everyone.
i am trying to enable or disable the proxy in my vista os.
i have the command right here.
reg add HKEY_CURRENT_US ER\Software\Mic rosoft\Windows\ CurrentVersion\ Internet Settings /v ProxyEnable /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f

/d 0 /f for enabling the auto proxy
/d 1 /f for disabling the auto proxy settings.

the reg key is fine and it is working the problem is when i enter this command the proxy is not set in the browser.
but the strange thing when i go and view Lan settings in any browser i find out that the proxy is set as i have changed it in the command.
and then when i press OK the browser then act according to the settings.

please i need help
regards
hsn

I know this topic has been discussed before but I couldn't find any thread more recent than about 18 months and was interested in what conclusions people had come to recently. Invariably 3 advantages of XML config files are promoted; 1. The .NET framework provides built-in support for reading application configuration data from .config files very easily 2. Using these files makes it possible to deploy an application using

I am trying to write to the registry and the objects that are suppose to be handling this function are not working. Here is what is happening. I am issuing the following commands: RegistryKey reg; reg = Registry.CurrentUser.CreateSubKey("Software\\SofTek Software\\SSILicense\\Settings"); reg = Registry.CurrentUser.OpenSubKey("Software\\mykey\\mysubkey\\Settings", true);

I'm working on a Windows app that needs to write to the Registry HKLM. I keep getting a "System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Cannot write to the registry key." error when running the app. I'm logged in as an Administrator and it's a Windows app. What permission does it need? Here's the code. private void ChangeReg() { string regPath = "SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\.NETFramework\\AssemblyFolders"; RegistryKey thisKey = Registry.LocalMachine;

I'm attempting some remote registry manipulation via C#. I've written a test app to simply grab a specified key from a specified hive on a specified machine. The call to OpenSubKey is throwing System.SecurityException. Also of note: Sitting at my local box, I can open regedit and connect to the remote registry. I see three hives: _CLASSES_ROOT, _LOCAL_MACHINE, and _USERS. I can open all but HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE. When I try to expand that...

However when I open the webpage (PHP 5.1.2, Windows Server 2003, IIS 6) I get the error message "Warning: Can't open registry key: The operation completed successfully." I have a system that has five programs that all communicate with each other via Message Queues. Works well. One program is a watchdog that will make sure the others are up and going. Currently I have it store info it gets from when the programs check in into a DataSet (XML file). Problem is, that file now has to be used by other programs to find out version information (the file is ALWAYS less that 1K.) The record itself is only five fields...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
