Hello all..
Here is my story, I have recently encountered a bad case of malware , (vundo virtualmonde etc.) It was a bit of a pain in the rear to shake loose but I managed to get it done.... I used a few program tools called Hijack This, CCleaner , Runkey,VundoFix , AVG Antivirus,Spywa re Blaster and Sppybot S-D.
I have now upgraded from IE6.5 to IE7. At that point i had some issues regarding JAVASCRIPT and FLASH. Wasnt able to view youtube and some other pages. Through another forum i somewhat resolved that issue.
Now offline , Windows isnt functionig properly , I double click some prog. and they dont open and some open and just show a blank dialog box just plain white screen with a drop file tab menu from the top that is no responsive..
Even things in control panel dont work.
I think that im myh effort to clean out malware and uninstalling flash java and installing new prog tools to clean out , I may have deleted or moved .some dll. files or processes and services have been disabled of deleted....

Phew, that sounds pretty bad. OK, let's see...

An ISO file is normally (not always though!) a CD- or DVD-Image. (In the case of SP3, probably CD.) So, you'd have to burn it to a CD. (That doesn't mean "burn a CD with that file on it" but burn a CD from that image. Check this piece of freeware if you don't have the software to do so already.)
Of course, this could be problematic, if you can't open any programs on your computer any more. If you can't get it burnt on your computer, try doing so from some other system. (By the way, normally you'd just start Windows Update to get SP3...)
However, you should try getting Windows working again, before you attempt to update it. My suggestion would be to boot with the Windows CD and choose the repair option. (Not quite sure of the exact steps now, as it's been a while, but there's a repair option in there somewhere.)
If that doesn't work, a complete reinstall might be something you should consider. Your system seems to be in a pretty broken state.
Greetings,
Nepomuk
Hello,
Check this piece of freeware if you don't have the software to do so already.)
IMHO ISOrecorder is unsupported on Windows XP SP3 (although if some newer version is out then I dont know). And as the OP had said:
I am running a pretty old machine. XP SP3 Media Edition.
But there are many similar softwares that will fulfill the requirement. i.e. GOOGLE is your friend.
@a6a6: Follow as nepomuk had advised. It is the right path in this matter.
Hope this helps........

The war of the OSes was won a long time ago.
Unix has always been, and will continue to be, the Server OS in the form
of Linux.
Microsoft struggled mightily to win that battle -- creating a poor man's
DBMS, a broken email server and various other /application/ servers to
try and crack the Internet and IS markets.
In the case where they didn't spend their own money to get companies to

Whether you are a web surfer or a C++ developer, if you use Windows be
cautioned about SONY music CDs. They contain 'viewer' type software that is
actually a trojan horse for a "rootkit". The licence agreement gives no
indication whatsoever that the 'viewer' software contains the implementation
of a nasty near-impossible to remove rootkit software.

I already posted on this subject, but I have some more information that
should make the issue clearer.
Config: Apache 2.x, PHP 5.1.x, Windows XP Pro
A php script processes a form. Inside this script I call exec to run a
Windows process. If I press the submit button on the form repeatedly, exec
starts and exit the process several times, but after 2-3 cycles, it starts
the process, the process exits, but exec doesn't return, and it hangs...

I was building a "hello world" application in ASP.NET and during the
construction of the same it attempted to access the above site, owned
by Microsoft. Webroot Spy Sweeper, which resides on my system,
blocked the connection and lists the site as a known malware site.
Why is this and has anybody else had this happen? Ordinarily Webroot
is very reliable.

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
