Hi all,i'm on BT BBtalk with a voyager 220v adsl voice router and i want to make my desktop PC wireless.
What's the easiest/cheapest way of doing this ?
I'm under the impression that even as an existing customer i'll have to buy the BT home hub if i want to[have i got that right ?],but can i just install a network card in my pc and do it like that instead ?
Which would be better ? Cheaper ?
I just want to be able to use a laptop wirelessy to connect to my BB connection.
I've never "gone wireless" so to speak before,but i can fix my pc and install hardware and software ok.
Just need some advice on how to do it and maybe suggestions as to which network card ?
PC is MSI K7 mobo,1 gig ram,AMD XP 2500+ running XP Pro if thats needed.

Pick youself up a wireless router and place it between your Desktop and ADSL. (Plug your desktop into one of the ports other than WAN on the back of router and plug your ADSL into the WAN port of the router).
Your Desktop should now be connecting (Wired) through the wireless router and you can connect your laptop wirelessly (assuming it has wireless built in)through the wireless router.
Just make sure to follow ALL of the instructions that come with the router and you should be fine.

Hi!
If you want to stick to voyager equipment, here's a list of their wireless routers and adapters. If you want your desktop PC connected via wireless, then a USB Wireless Stick like the BT Voyager 1055 would do the job.
However, you don't have to stick with voyager - there are lot's of brands that offer Wireless devices - you'll need a wireless router (your one isn't one, sorry) and a wireless card of some kind in any device you want to connect via wireless internet.
Most laptops have wireless cards built in nowadays, so check if you're unsure. You could however always get yourself a PCMCIA or PCI Express (providing your laptop has those connections) or USB card, if it isn't built in.
