This one has me a bit confused and I'm not finding what I

I have a rather large, complex code-in-page WebForm
(don't ask) and a section of that Form is 4 or 5
ASP:Panels pretending to be a set of Tabs, each with its
own section of the form.

When I try to place a child control on top of a panel control, the mouse
pointer remains as a pointer instead of changing to a cross.
I tried both the ShowGrid on/off, doesn't make a difference.. Can someone
please point out the obvious... I have the 2002 version of VS.NET.

cols , i heared that the aclignment won't change in run time across the
browsers.
is it true? if the panel provides guaruntee that it keeps the controls
alignment same in runtime across the browsers, i can very well use the
panel control instead of tables ,to make it easier to control in...

OK, check this out...
I have a form with a panel control and button on it (outside the panel
control).
I have two event handlers - one handles the click event of the button on the
form. The other handles a custom "CardInserted" event for a class I wrote
that watches for smart cards to be inserted into an attached smart card
reader.

I'm trying to build a custom control that includes a panel control on
it. However, in design-time when I drag a new control (e.g. a textbox,
etc) into the panel, it's not added in the panel--just the overall
control.
* I do not want the entire user control to be a panel/container
control. I just want the panel part of it to work as expected.
Any suggestions?

I am showing a (sub)form within a panel in a host form. The subform title
bar needs to show, but I would like to "lock" the subform in place within
the panel, so that the use cannot drag it off the panel. Is this possible?

i have made a custom control. i have placed a panel on it. I want this
panel to behave just like the normal panel. The problem i was having is
that the panel on my custom control doesnt accept other controls. The
control i drag drop on it becomes the child of my custom control's
parent form and not the child of my custom control. Then i added this

trying to add a tabbed control to the page.
I have no problems within the aspx file, and can dynamically manipulate a
tabcontainer which has 1 panel already, however I want to try create the
