Windows SNMP Agent help

13 New Member
Hello,

Wondering if anyone knew how to speed up the Windows SNMP agent? I have an application that queries systems with agents installed on them for computer metric information. One of the key pieces this monitoring system does is it checks for running processes. I'll check for something like "notepad.ex e" for example. The problem is that it takes about a minute or more for the agent to "know" that the process is down when I close notepad. The same thing is true when I open notepad, it takes another 1-2 minutes for my app to realize that it's up. I'd like to get this information near-realtime, if it's possible. Thanks in advanced!

Hi , Of course sometimes, some of us have these weird DLLImport issues. I am using Net-snmp library from http://www.net-snmp.org. While creating a prototype as console application it worked fine, but as windows application it fails to respond correctly. Verified by sniffer, the windows app does not even reaches TCP/IP network layer, and it...

Hi, I have a Python app and i would like to add some SNMP agent functionality to it. I know it's possible to write a sub-agent with netsnmp but it is in C and quite complicated. I know of YAPSNMP (a wrapper around NETSNMP) but it doesn't seem to support agent writing. Any suggestion ?

Hi, I am new to SNMP and am currently required to design an SNMP based NMS. SNMPv2 has a predefined number of messages that can be sent to an agent (like get, getnext, getbulk, set etc.). Is there a way to extend these messages or define new kinds of messages. Can I send a new code (other than those defined by the SNMP protocol) in the...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. For...
