I am running the IMAP4 example in the documentation: http://www.python.org/doc/lib/imap4-example.html with two small changes (different username, comment out print statement). The inbox I am accessing is 42 MB and has 80-someodd messages, so the messages are fairly big (all of them have attachments). When I run this program, I get a malloc error. Now, I'm really new to python programming, but it was my understanding that memory...

- The value of the object allocated by the malloc function is used (7.20.3.3). - The value of any bytes in a new object allocated by the realloc function beyond the size of the old object are used (7.20.3.4). Something like this (include and checkings omitted): p = malloc(sizeof(*p) * 5); p = 1; p = 1; p = 1;

In C, we have read-only memory (const), read/write memory (normal data), and write only memory. Let's look at the third one in more detail. Write only memory is a piece of RAM that can only be written to, since its contents are undefined. The program is allocating a new piece of data, and the previous contents aren't relevant. This memory

Hi, When I run a program I have made, i get this error message sometimes: "Application error:The instruction at '...' referenced memory at '...'. Memory could not be "read"..." Are there any common mistakes that cause this problem? Before i get the message above i get this in the command window: "pow: OVERFLOW error". I suppose these error messages are connected, but how? What causes pow: OVERFLOW error?

Hi, I have a C# assembly that is calling directly into C++ unmanaged code. Everything is working fine but at the very end of the process I get an application error, which says: "The instruction at (hexNumber) referenced memory at (hexNumber). The memory could not be read. Click on OK to terminate the program." It seems to me that the .Net CLR is trying to unload the C++ dll but

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not.
