Is there any modules dealing with multimedia (it needs to be portable
between windows and linux). I didn't found anything useful.
For audio I need something to play mp3s (and ogg), extract frames,
basic sound editing and effects. For video I need to play mpeg1,2,4, encode,
decode it, basic editing and frames extracting. Also I need something to
capture video from tuner. I found fastaudio (portaudio), pyffmpeg (ffmpeg)
pyVidCapture. But it...

Hi there,
we have started with some people from our LUG (Linux User Group) a 'little'
project, called LMMS (Linux Multimedia System). When it's 'finished' it
shall be a window-manager for use on TV and handle with joysticks/gamepads.
As the name says, it is for multimedia-applications, like listening to
music, watching videos and maybe playing some games. The idea is to create
a gui for application like mplayer, ogg123, mpg123,...

"Why should we think that Computer Assisted Learning (CAL) using multimedia
would be effective in teaching in a hospital? Hamilton, Furnace, Duguid,
Helms & Simpson (1999) reported that in the Faculty of Medicine and Medical
Sciences at the University of Aberdeen, there were over 150 IT based

I admit I am more familiar with Delphi programming including the latest
Delphi8 for NET but I thought I would try my luck in VB .NET Beeing a
non-professional self taught programmer I mostly write multimedia tutorial
type code for medical profesionals. This requires graphics and sound/video.
The Delphi language uses a visual component library which amongst other
goodies contain a media player which is really just an object shell for the...

Hello,
I need to write a C# multimedia application, and I am not sure which tools I
need. I have the C# compiler. The application is to write audio files to
attached MP3 players, through MTP. Is there a development kit, a product,
that will make my job a little easy? I searched msdn2, but it seems that
what Microsoft offers is beyond my capabilities.

Hi:
I want to add a *.wav file to my program so that when the operator makes a
menu selection, the *.wav file automatically plays. I'm using a MDI form as
my main form and the multimedia form cannot be placed on it (so it seems).
I can put the multimedia control on another form and make that form
invisible, but is there a way to play the wave file automatically?
Thanks

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
