XP does have a "scheduler" in which you can set a task to run a program (say that would perform your backup as configured) at a specific day/time. You want to go to: Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> Scheduled Tasks

That is the scheduler that Windows has for tasks to be automated. It is pretty self explanatory to use.

So how can I make the schedule such that I can save the files for the backup at different location daily and the file names should look like..
e.g. abc28-01-2008.mdb
abc29-01-2008.mdb
abc30-01-2008.mdb
and after that more than 3 copies of the backup file, the new backup will replace the oldest one?
Can I write the batch file to satify such requirements?
And then I set the scheduler to run such batch file at the scheduled time daily?
What will be the content for the batch file?
Thanks a lot!

You would have to write a batch file or something that does exactly what you want. The scheduler is only for running jobs, not performing tasks like a script would. You create the batch file or script of your choice and set the scheduler up to run it at scheduled times.

I have made 3 batch files:
copy g:\abc\abc.mdb g:\abc\history\ abc1.mdb (batch file 1)
copy g:\abc\abc.mdb g:\abc\history\ abc2.mdb (batch file 2)
copy g:\abc\abc.mdb g:\abc\history\ abc3.mdb (batch file 3)
the schedule will run after 3 days,
how can I made the schedule can not run on every saturday and sunday?
willl it replace the file automically if abc1,abc2 and abc3 is already existed? And how to modify the batch files so that it will replace the files accordingly?

If you don't want it to run on Saturday and Sunday, then don't schedule those days. As for what happens to the files, that is dependent on your scripts. The scheduler simply runs what you tell it, and that is ALL that it does. The actions that the ran program take are not dependent on what the scheduler says. You have to code in the batch file if you want something replaced or not. Unfortunately, I don't know much at all about Windows batch scripting.

I am currently working on a C# project that uses the Janus schedule controls, and am having trouble getting it to print correctly in Day view. The problem is that it will not print out the owners of the appointments unless I set the ShowAllDayArea parameter to true. When I do this, a large and unsightly grey box is drawn above the actual schedule in day view, wasting space and making things look generally ugly. I am using the built in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
