Hey everyone, as the title states, DirectX 9.0c required for Cabal Online.
I have downloaded the directX_nov2007 _redist.exe
After the downloading it, I extracted it into a folder I created; was that the wrong thing to do?
so the problem is, I extracted it into the folder.. and that was the end of the process, and cabal online still gives me an error message saying:
"MS DirectX should installed at least 9.0c version. Exit program. "
All assistance is greatly welcomed. Thanks.

You have to install DirectX 9.0c. Simply extracting the file wont work, you must run the install file.

If you look at the bottom of this page, you will see instructions for downloading and installing the package.

I've got Visual Studio 7.0.9466 and have installed the

I can't open the DirectX Summer release sample Direct3D

Hi,
Can anyone recommend any decent .NET UI libraries that work
Managed DirectX? Preferably with C# source available, but this isn't a
must.
I'm currently checking out a lib called 'MCDX', which looks relatively
comprehensive at first glance. Any other suggestions would be very
welcome.

i just downloaded and installed the directx aug 2006 sdk
the machine i installed it on had both vs2003 & vs2005
the visual studio extensions were installed into vs2003 but not into vs2005.
does the directx sdk not integrate with vs2005 ?
are we essentially forced to develop directx apps using vs2003 & .net 1.1 in
order to take advantage of the vs extensions ?
the docs make no mention of vs2005 or .net 2.0 - but then again while the vs...

I don't really think I mean errors, but it seems so on my computer.
I used to have Visual C++ 2005 Express, and I tried the DirectX SDK, and it didn't work. I had some idea in my head about the express version not having every single library or header file required to make the SDK work, so I decided to get the full version of Visual Studio 2005. I'm glad I bought it, because now I have a whole load of stuff to work with, but sadly, the...

I just downloaded the apparently free SDK for DirectX 9, all 200+ MB
of it, but as I read about WPF I wonder: is DirectX obsolete? Should
I even bother learning how to use it? After all, the end user must
have the DirectX library installed on their PC before they can use any
video playing program you write.
Does WPF even use DirectX? Or are the functions of DirectX (mostly
video and graphics stuff, possibly accelerated via software...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
