About a week ago, I upped my screen resolution from 800x600 to 1024x768. From
that point on, I started making gradual adjustments to my web site, in which the
margins are tailored to 800 pixels wide. Fonts seem too small!
Is this a bad habit I'm getting into? By the way, what resolution are you at?

I've read previous posts and know it is "bad form" to change a user's
screen resolution to fit your program's needs. My situation is very
different.
I have a user with a laptop resolution of 1680x1050. When they dock
the laptop, the external monitor connects and uses 1900x1200
resolution.
They need a program to do the following:
1 - Detect the current screen resolution.

I've created an access program that's used by 5 people.
Two of the individuals have lower screen resolutions that makes it
difficult to utilize the program as written
Is there any way to reset the resolution when the program opens and
when set back upon exiting?
It looks like there may be some freeware out there that provides a
module that will do this. Anyone have any experience with these, or
any other suggestions on how to solve...

I have created an asp.net app on my machine where the resolution is
set to 1280 x 1024. When my users view the form on their screen, some
of the controls display differently than on my screen. One solution I
have is to use some javascript to determine the resolution of their
screen and redirect them to a duplicate form suited better for their
resolution but I would have to maintain multiple forms. Anybody know
of a better way to handle...

I want to write code that can be compiled as C and C++. In the Windows
API, there are many macros that help with scope resolution. For
example:
#ifdef __cplusplus
#define SNDMSG ::SendMessage
#else
#define SNDMSG SendMessage
#endif

Hi,
I am having lots of cross-resolution (and also cross-browser) problems.
I would like to know what is the most recommended solution for this
type of issue:
* Should I use different CSS for different resolutions? I don't like
this solution because than I will have to maintain 2 large CSS files.
* Should I just query the resolution each time there's a problematic
div, and than add the relevant div accordingly? E.g.:
if (screen.width ==...

Hi,
Might someone explain to me:
Site (again) made with CSS, browser IE7.0, resolution 1152x864.
All suits see http://www.naturistart.eu/test/voorbeeld-1.html
When I look again on another computer with browser IE6.0, resolution
1280x800 and even the sum of the 3 column because of safety 8px
smaller is then the total width of the 3e columns, moves the 3e column

I'm reading a series of images from a MS SQL table and saving them to
directory. These are staff ID pictures from our security card app.
Once I've extracted the ID photo from the security app to disk, I need
to reference the disk file in our HR app. As part of the process, I'm
resizing the image and changing its resolution from 96 to 72 dpi. If
they are not at a 72 dpi resolution, the HR app freezes. The resizing
works without a hitch, but...

I recently developed an application on my PC, which has quite a large screen
and a high resolution. When it was deployed, clients who had a different
configuration had problems with seeing all the controls and they had to use
scroll bars!!
Potentially all applications will be used by a wide range of users with
different settings; is there a preferred way to designing applications to
meet the needs of all end users? For this application,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
