Hi Everybody
I have a 2003 application that I am trying to run under 2007, The code
seems to work OK but the Ribbon is a big problem. It just takes up too
much space away from the application.
Does anyone know a quick and easy way to code a 'minimize' of the
Access 2007 Ribbon when the application starts so that the user cannot
restore the Ribbon or use any part of it?

I have a customized Ribbon for Access 2007 with various buttons that open different forms. When opening certain forms, none of which have their own custom ribbon assigned, the selected tab is reset back to the first tab on the ribbon. It does not appear as though the ribbon is being invalidated and refreshed because none of the initial property setting callbacks for the ribbon are being called. Strangely it only happens with certain forms and...

Does anyone know if there is any way to control the selected tab on a custom ribbon?
I have a number of forms with their own custom ribbon and when they are closed I would like to be able to set the selected tab on the main access custom ribbon instead of having it default to the first tab.
I have not been able to find any callbacks in any ribbon documentation that would allow me to do this.
Thanks

Hello all,
I'm a bit stumped on this one. I have a ribbon menu where I am allowing the
users to hide main options that they don't use. I use a separator id in
between each option to get a separtor bar in the menu ribbon. However...When
hiding a main button, the separator doesn't hide automatically (like I had
hoped). So, I added code for a "onGetVisible" event, and used the line below
in the ribbon.
<separator id="sepM1"...

Well, maybe not interesting, more like hair-pulling.
Ok, so if you want to code misc. utilities and forms for the office button
(Like a registration screen, backup, setup options, connect to other
database, and the like), you can add your own options to the office button.
However, when you set your application to the main ribbon (with the office
button extra entries), then have individual form ribbons where
"StartFromScratch = True",...

I am new to using Access 2007 and a novice with Access period.
I have two older databases that I created in Access 2000. When I open DB1 I
get the usual ribbon menus shown. When I open DB2 however, the only ribbon
showing is the Home Ribbon and when I click on the Microsoft Office Button,
the only thing showing under it is Close Database and Exit Access.
What do I need to do to get all of the command buttons back in the Ribbon
Menus...

Hi,
I'm having issues with AC2007 custom ribbons.
I'm building an AC2007 runtime app which has a custom ribbon (called CommandsDisabledHideRibbon) set as the default db ribbon name (see XML at end of post). The aim is to hide as much of the Access interface as possible.
CommandsDisabledHideRibbon ribbon XML (verified as well-formed by the Office 2007 Custom UI Editor):
<customUI...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
