i get something like this, try power cycling your system.

shut it down
if your power supply has a on/off switch turn it off or if not unplug it from the wall
wait about 30 seconds
turn the switch for the power supply back on or plug it back in (whichever one you did)
wait 5-10 seconds so the power goes through the motherboard (mine has an LED that turns on when the motherboard has power...maybe yours does too)
turn the computer back on

this works for me, tell us if it does for you.

good luck.

Hello, I added in my (MSI) installer project an advertisable shortcut, that automatically repairs the installation when something is corrupted. It would be more fine to have a normal shortcut, but I understood that this is not possible without using Orca. My installation project contains a custom action to start the application after...

I have coded a compress/repair routine (VB6) which, upon an open failure of the Access 97 database, will run to attempt a repair before giving up and reporting the error to a user. My problem is - how can I test it? The compress works OK, but that is not the issue here. How can I make an Access 97 database need a repair? What makes the Jet...

Hi All, Using WinXP pro/Access 2000. I have a database that's been used for about 5 months. Transferred lots of data from a dos based program, then the users have been using it for that 5 months. About 180000 records in one of the main files (maybe 25000 new since the dos conversion). Been having some speed issues crop up along the way...

New discovery. If I take a perfectly good database, and "compact/repair" on it with Access 2000 (seems to be at multiple sites--I've tried it with my system here, at another office on an entirely different network), it damages the file somehow. The user's machine that did the compact/repair can see the file fine. But any networked user...

A2003 on Win XP Pro. A number of very stable apps I have are lately sometimes crashes when I do a compact & repair, especially when I hold the shift key to do so. When this starts happening, I usually turn off or restart my computer. Sometimes this stops the crashing, sometimes it doesn't. I'm really not sure why this is happening, I've...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then...
