What is the best way to limit logons to a website? We assign a user ID and
password to each user. These are stored in the database (SQL Server). We
want to do two things:
1. Only allow one person to use a specific user ID at a time. So if I log
on as user ABC and then someone else tries to logon as ABC, they will not be
allowed to logon.
2. Limit the total number of users logged on at a given time. So say there
are 10 users and...

Hi, All
I use SQL Server 2000 and Win 2003 Server. I try to create a SQL Server
Login audit log using Profiler, but cannot find the tools. I looked at the
Windows Event Viewer, it only logs Windows authentications users for SQL
Server not SQL Server users (Mixed mode users).
Please help on creating SQL Server Login log (username, password and time).
Thanks

I'm trying to finish implementing security on my database. I have
secured the .mdb with a .mdw file as per the MS security FAQ with no
problems.
The last part of security that I need to implement is that the first
person to open and log on to the database gets to use the database.
Any subsequent log on users will flip into READ-ONLY mode and won't be
able to modify any data.
All my users belong to a 'full-data-access' group that...

My boss asked me to build a program to create a report
with logon/logoff events for all users within our windows
domain. I'm using .Net to do so and decided to have a
program running on the Domain Controler to listen to all
new events and send them to a database. This last part I
haven't worked on yet, cause I can't tell which events are
relevant to write to the db and which are not.
I have managed to listen to all the security log...

in my database (e.g. he uses his private notebook instead of the company

username and password. can i somehow send this to the logon server to check
if they are correct or do i have to enter passwords manually to my database
(i want to avoid this)?

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
