Logs for Component Services

24 New Member
Morning, I've had a look round for logs for Component Services and can't seem to find any. I've looked in the Windows Event Viewer, which is where I'd expect them to be, but there are none.

Are there any logs for Component Services, and if so where are they stored?

Thanks in advance,

We have several serviced components written in .NET 1.1. Using Visual Studio, we have an installer project that creates an installer for them. The components are installed properly into the GAC and show in the Component Services control panel. The issue is when we uninstall or want to upgrade the components. What we have found is if there are live instances pooled and running (which is always the case as we want them to be ready for...

We are experiencing a problem with component services in .Net and IIS. We use component services to handle transactions against SQL Server. At some point of usage, IIS will hang up and the lowest level in the stack trace is at System.EnterpriseServices.Thunk.Proxy.CoCreateObject and also sometimes at System.EnterpriseServices.Thunk.Proxy.RevokeObject. Each thread that comes in after this gets stuck in the same spot and IIS is hung at that...

Hi all, I've apparently tied myself up a bit using the logging package. In my project, I have a core set of model and controller classes that set up their logging using logging.fileConfig(). So far, so good. But I use these core classes from a bunch of different places. Sometimes from within a CherryPy server, sometimes batch jobs run from a command line, sometimes from Windows services (also written in

I have a web service which calls a .NET queued serviced component in COM+. I turned statistics on for the component. I call the component 10 times, 10 objects get created but they do not go away. I'm calling Marshal.ReleaseComObject after I make each call. public NotifyResponse Notify(NotifyRequest reqMessage) { try {

Cloud is the new buzzword in technology. Though the Cloud primarily meant the internet in many design or architectural diagrams, Cloud Computing has slowly but surely evolved into three well defined services, IaaS, PaaS and SaaS. When we talk about IaaS; the front runner in this Service Space is Amazon with the service acronym AWS (Amazon Web Services). One of the service provided, and is widely accepted, is called Simple Storage Service(S3)....

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
