Tool to give details about used and unused memory in viirtual memory

26 New Member
Hi All,

Recently I have got an interesting problem related to virtual memory usage. Our application is crashing in the customer site when the user tried to process a report with thousands of data.
Narrowing down the problem, I found that our application is using windows API VirtualAlloc( ) to allocate memory for processing. When it could not find enough space in the virtual memory for processing it creashes and gives error. I also found that our application is reserving large area in virtual memory but not using it efficiently. Is there any tool to monotor virtual memory usage and give details about the virtual memory used and unused area?

From reading this forum, it is my understanding that C++ doesn't require the compiler to keep code that does not manifest itself in any way to the user. For example, in the following: { for(int i = 0; i < 10; ++i){ std::cout << i << std::endl; for(int j = 0; j < 0x7fffffff; ++j){} } }

Access 2000 - Is there a 3rd party tool available, or perhaps some method built into Access 2000, which could isolate unused Access reports, queries, forms, etc? I have a 5 year old app which has not always been cleaned up. I know there are quite a few such no longer used items. I have a "Find" utility which is good, but I need to look for every component individually - it is very time consuming because there are hundreds of components...

I have a Windows app (it will be promoted to a Service once this problem is sorted out) that cyclically, every minute, connects to five SQL Servers over the WAN, extract data and insert the data in a local SQL Server, using the OLEDB provider. Every cycle I create one local connection and five remote connections, do the stuff, close the connections and dispose everything that has a Dispose method (OleDbConnection, OleDbDataAdapter and...

Is there a tool to identify used / unused styles in a stylesheet? I have a tendency to accumulate styles in a stylesheet. Many of these styles are not actually employed by the page, so many of the defined styles are redundant. Is there a way to identify which styles are used or not used? My normal way is to make changes to one section, then look at the page to see if anything changes, if it does, the style is in use and I have

Hi, is there a tool which parses cpp and h files, finds unused things, and deletes them from code? For example unused methods, enums, enum values, defines... It doesn't have to be sophisticated (it doesn't have to check, that ClassA::funX is used somewhere, but ClassB::funX is not used anywhere, so we can delete only ClassB::funX). Thanks in advance!

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
