Is there anyway to get a program to run in windows automatically at a given time in the regedit or do I need to find a program that will do this.

Hi all, I have created an ASP script that enters data into an Access Database. My problem is that I'd like this script to run when the computer is shutdown or the user logs off. I think this would be simple enough if the ASP didn't have any user input, but it does.

Hello All, I am interested in writing an .NET application that is started whenever the machine is powered up. The machine is a WindowsXP system or Windows 2000 system. When this custom program is started, it would display a user interface to interact with the user. The user would not able to switch to other applications that may currently be running concurrently nor would the user be able to start a new program nor exit the custom...

I am using FTP built in to my application to update the application and data from a server... What is the normal method folks use to over write the application while the program is active? What I am running into is that the FTP code will not over write the .exe while the application is running. Do any other types of application extension files have the same issue with not wanting to be updated while the application is running: .dll,...

I have a long-running program that has lots of net connections open on separate threads. I'm twiddling my thumbs waiting for it to finish (each run takes maybe an hour) and although I'm logging various info that I can monitor as the run progresses, it would be cool to be able to actually poke around the program's data while it's running. I'm thinking of adding a "console" thread that would basically be a read-eval-print loop that I...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...
