Yes. Make users of your computer use a password to log on.
Limit their ability to do things like download and install by assigning the "Limited" accounts. Do that in the Control Panel | User Accounts applet.

How about only two accounts? (One with the right to install and one without.)

You could create a second account, which will be the common account in future, but has limited rights. In that case, you'd have to change to the original account every time you want to install something.

Of course, you can create a new Administrator account from the current account, then go into the new account and change the settings of the old account from "Administra tor" to "Limited". (A bit confusing, isn't it?)

You won't however be able to get around having two or more accounts I would think.

put a password on your account, then create another account (a limited account) or activate the guest account without a password, so anyone who doesn't know the password to your account has to use the non-password protected account and then they can't do anything to harm your computer....wel l they still can if they try harder.

Thnx nepomuk,
But I want to do this in my original account, or if I create a new account,
how can I hide the original account on the log in screen. Because i couldn't get understood anyone that I am creating a new account.

And one thing in new account there is no "My document" folder. How can i get it.

I don't know about hiding the original account, but you can set Windows to autologin to a specific account when it's started. You'll have to change the user, whenever you want to install something then.

You can somehow go back to the old login form, where you have to type your username instead of clicking on it. So whoever doesn't know your Administrators username and password, won't be able to login.

Dear all I recognized today that if I have an echo statement on an else at the end of my script the only thing which was downloaded by wget was this string. Is this a common way to prevent uncontrolled downoading of php scripts? The software I wrote is GPL licensed so I would share it as package not as partial files.

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
