I am trying to construct an application that is able to cancel a machine
shutdown, reboot or logoff. And after performing some stuff to perform the
original shutdown order : Shutdown/reboot/logoff.

Hi,
Although I havent been able to find any documentation to confirm it, it
looks like any change to a windows local group's membership is only
reflected in the group editing UI (and the command-line tool 'net
localgroup'), and requires a full reboot of windows to take effect for
any other applications.
Can anyone confirm this, or explain why I am getting behaviour that
gives this impression?

I've got a C# program that seems to be adept at preventing the system from rebooting. If it is running when you tell the system to reboot it closes and then somehow stops the reboot from happening. Once the program has quit you can reboot the system just fine. The basic structure of the program is a loop that goes through a number of Windows forms. When I run my setup of a vb.net app made in VS2005 and setup made with the
setup wizard and then modified in the ide, The .net 2 setup runs and installs
and then asks to reboot. If you answer ok then the reboot happens and when
the system comes back it says it cant find the setup1.msi file (my setup) and
so wont continue and install my app.

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
