Hi,
I've started work on my own control some parts of which use standard
controls, others I need to draw on my controls surface to get the display
output I require, however....
I seem to be stupid or missing the point. I used DrawString( ) as a simple
test but I cannot get it to work at all unless I handle my custom controls
Paint event.

I have been testing code out on machines with Windows Defender installed, and
the anti-virus software causes VB applications to misbehave. Mouse buttons
fail to work correctly with ActiveX controls. Turning off Windows Defender
solves the problem.
Looks like they're not ready to force this thing on the public quite yet.

wizard & rebooted my HP Media Center 2005 xp. The computer actknoledges the
One care removal and warns me I have no virus program runing or instaled. BUT

the Defender program from installing.

I run WD and do not see any spyware detected at all. I then run any or all of
Ad-Aware, Spybot and Zone Alarm and spyware is always detected. Obviously WD
did not block any of these, and it certainly did not detect them. I get
successful updates nearly every day from WD. I have uninstalled and
re-installed twice with no change to the problem. What has to be done to get
Windows Defender to do what it is intended to do?

Every time my pc starts and Windows Defender run its scan, it classifies the
same program as a risk despite me clicking on the Action "Permit." How can I
make Windows Defender to permanently recognize this program as trusted or
permitted?

now on its home page Defender wants to know Permit or Deny?
QUESTION: So on the home page re "review recent changes",
* Will I be permitting or denying the PROGRAM?
*OR will I be permitting or denying THE CHANGES I made??

Hello!
I need to somehow extract the TypeLib ID from a COM-dll compiled using
VB6. Is is possible or do I have to look it up in the registry somehow
(ie by iterating over TypeLibIDs in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib\ and
matching the DLL path info?
Please excuse any inaccuracies in this post, my understanding of COM
is patchy, especially the progid/clsid/typelib part of it.

For the last month, my p.c. has been crashing within 15 minutes from
start-up. I have been going through all the possible reasons and have finally
identified Windows Defender as the instigator (but maybe not the reason) of
