Windows Defender Classification

Every time my pc starts and Windows Defender run its scan, it classifies the
same program as a risk despite me clicking on the Action "Permit." How can I
make Windows Defender to permanently recognize this program as trusted or
permitted?

Does anyone know of a method or control to create a form border that looks like the one in Windows Defender? It fits to the top, left and bottom of the form and has rounded internal corners. The border itself has both gradient and shadow effects. The top area of the border contains controls. - Pete

I have been testing code out on machines with Windows Defender installed, and the anti-virus software causes VB applications to misbehave. Mouse buttons fail to work correctly with ActiveX controls. Turning off Windows Defender solves the problem. Looks like they're not ready to force this thing on the public quite yet.

I am interested in including classification info in metadata. I am aware of the Dublin Core and XMP. However, neither of these appear to specify exactly how the classification data should be formatted within the element. I am interested in any standardized formats for expressing Dewey Decimal System - DDS, Library of Congress Classification - LCC, Cutter Expansive Classification, Universal Decimal Classification - UDC, Colon Notation...

I run WD and do not see any spyware detected at all. I then run any or all of Ad-Aware, Spybot and Zone Alarm and spyware is always detected. Obviously WD did not block any of these, and it certainly did not detect them. I get successful updates nearly every day from WD. I have uninstalled and re-installed twice with no change to the problem. What has to be done to get Windows Defender to do what it is intended to do?

I keep getting the same warning from OneCare, one is for Adware, the other is for a trojan, I clean both, but almost immediatly, I get the same warning? My Windows Defender is also shut down, not by me as I have no idea how to do this(or to turn it back on), but am still...

For the last month, my p.c. has been crashing within 15 minutes from start-up. I have been going through all the possible reasons and have finally identified Windows Defender as the instigator (but maybe not the reason) of these crashes. What happens is this: When Windows Defender starts, it creates a file called TMP000000 followed by a random set of numbers and upper-case letters in the Temp sub-folder of the main WINDOWS folder. This...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
