i think the best way to do this is to partition your harddrive and install windows on one and linux on the other, or install a second harddrive and use one for one and one for the other.

either way when u startup your computer it will prompt you to select with OS to bootup.

Hello- I, the inquirydog, would like to solicit suggestions for a new web page I am making: I am creating a simple website that will translate concepts between windows os's, Linux, and the Java language with all of its related technologies. The website is at http://members.dslextreme.com/users/inquirydog, and is a mock-version of the Rosetta stone, which indicates concepts from each "platform"

Rationale to use Linux ======================= - I can't afford paying for $199 for the license of an OS that's arguably better thank Linux for each of 10 computers I have. - I want to be free of Microsoft stigma, and of constant lockdown on Microsoft products. The world is better than that. - Linux runs .NET :-) Reverse engineers in less than a year. That's

I'm doing a survey. When do you think GNU/Linux will be ready for the average Joe? What obstacles must it overcome first?

The war of the OSes was won a long time ago. Unix has always been, and will continue to be, the Server OS in the form of Linux. Microsoft struggled mightily to win that battle -- creating a poor man's DBMS, a broken email server and various other /application/ servers to try and crack the Internet and IS markets. In the case where they didn't spend their own money to get companies to

Hi, We are currently installing a DB2 V9 ESE on a Linux server (RHEL4U4-x86_64). Installation runs successfully on each node. Database user environment is OK and the instance is well created. To be sure, we've started the database with db2start =successfull. And then shut it down again successfully too. The tricks appears when we switch the hp MC/ServiceGuard (A.11.16 for Linux) package to the other node... the database does not want...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
