I have a Sony Vaio FS920. My OS is Windows XP Home Edition Version 2002 Service Pack 2
Recently (starting 2 months ago), my computer has been freezing up and turning one solid color. The first time it was white, second black, third white and fourth Pink. The first time it froze what when i was just surfing the internet. The second i had left it to go to the bathroom. the third i had left it downloading files while i ate. And this last time, i was downloading some stuff and i left to go watch some tv and grab a bite to eat. I can back and my screen was pink, and as far as i could tell, the entire computer froze.
despite my constant banging on the key board and yelling, nothing...
Any ideas?

I do relate to this, the other night I got so frustrated that I literally ripped the power cord out the back of my computer.
However having said that this is of course not a useful coarse of action.
You should
1. Virus Scan
2. Check your hard disk for errors, right click on the disk in My Computer, select Properties and the Tools on the dialog that appears
3. Consider the possibility that some piece of the hardware has gone wrong ('fraid I can really be specific, right now sounds like it could be 1 of hard disk, video card or mother board).

I am running into exactly same issue, I think it is related to Flash player. But this is exactly same problem, I am facing with my VAIO. The solid color changes each time.

I never figured out what was happening, but i did fix it. I moved to linux ;)

Hi:
As in the "Wizard of Oz", I want people to "pay no attention to the man behind the
curtain", by freezing the screen while a whole lot of things happen. I know about ECHO
OFF, but this appears to reset when forms are opened and under other conditions. Are
there any commands (Screen Refresh=False?) that will stop screen refreshing until another
command is encountered that turns the screen refreshing on again?

we have nearly completed a C# app which makes use of MapPoint. We are
finding that when re-drawing the map the screen is jumping about as items
are re-drawn and re-sized. Is there any way in C# of freezing the screen
until all refreshing is done.
