Running XP pro, SP2. Visual studio .NET 2003. App written in C#
I have written an application that hides itself when run and shows a
notification icon in the system tray.
If the main form is visible/restored to the desktop, and I tell windows to
restart, windows shuts down fine.
If the main form is minimized to the tray and I tell windows to restart,
other desktop apps close down fine but my program's icon remains sat in the
system...

Is there anyway to hold the base.WndProc(ref m) until after the Logout()
function finishes loading a webpage??
I'm working on shutting down an app that runs in the system tray, I have no
problems shutting down, but I have problems saving data first.
if the base.WndProc(ref m) is placed at the top, it closes, but the system
does not continue to shutdown and it does not save the data via the Logout()
funtion.
If the base.WndProc(ref m)...

Hi
I have a VB.Net windows application that for some reason when running will
not allow the user to shut-down/reboot the Operating System without first
closing my application. Has anyone had the problem and how might I resolve
it?
I need my app to allow the user to shut-down and or reboot their OS without
closing my application first.
Thanks

Hi Guys,
I have a small application which uses a NotifyIcon. The user can set a
flag (PreventClosing ) so that when he clicks on the form-cancel button
"X", the program will instead be minimized in the icon try. See code
attached.
My problem is that my code is probably too naive. In fact there is a
problem when one tries to shut dow or restart Windows. Windows does NOT
want to shut down! I guess it's the e.cancel = TRUE statement in...

Hello.
I have a little problem. I created a little Service which uses SIP, all works rather well, but when I want to shut it down in the Services panel, it looks as if it's shut down, but in fact it's not:
- when I try want to delete the .DLL file, I can't: the file is still locked
- if I "Start" my Service again, it refuses
I have to wait like ~20s, and then it is really shut down.
When I shut down the Service, and then try to Start it...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
