I would like to save time copying the same file
(>6 GByte) to various different target storage
media connected to the system via USB.
Is there a (Python or other) tool able to help me
to do this, so that I don't need to copy the
source file first to the first media, then to the
second, etc.?

Hi,
I'm having a problem using the Copy module on a ClearCase view that's been
set as "readonly" (i.e. ct chview -readonly <view tag>). I want to copy a
file out of this view and put it in another directory that's outside of
ClearCase. The strange thing is that the copy command actually copies
correctly. The problem is that it returns a "0" errorcode because of the
fact that the view is readonly. I guess "copy" still tries to write...

Hi everyone,
What I am wanting to do, is to copy, a simple plain text file, to
another file, but omitting duplicate items.
The way I thought of doing this, involved copying all the items into a
array, and then looping through that array looking for duplicates,
removing them, and then writing to another file.
This seems a very long and drawn out way of doing this to me, and also I

Hi all,
I know this is possible in Oracle but has anyone done it in DB2 and
could you maybe direct me to some documentation or let me know how I
would go about doing it?
In the oracle world you would basically need to do the following:
1. Set tablespace to backup mode
2. Copy associated data files to new directory/system

I found a real nice article on how to copy a directory on MSDN. The
only problem is that I can not figure out how to get the namespace
Microsoft.VisualBasic.MyServices. I wanted to know if anyone else has
had experience with this, or knows of a different way to copy a
directory using VB.
I found ways to copy files, but not having a lot of luck with finding a
way to copy a directory other then this information I am finding on
MSDN.

Hi,
Is there a UNIX C system command that will let me copy a file?
I am looking for something similar to "cp" that can be called within a
C program.
I know of the "link" system call but this command will set a the
second file as a link to the first file rather than an independent
copy of the first file.
(Windows has the CopyFile command but I didn't find anything that
would work under UNIX)

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
