This can be a very long tedious process depending on how you wish to developm the SQL database. First, use the toturial that comes with VB in writing/opening an Access database. Now instead of connecting to the Access database you connect to the SQL database. Either, doing this by an ODBC connection or straight to the SQL database by your workstation. Now, this is a very simplified explanation. Mainly, get familiar with the wizard/sample from the VB program itself. I recommend obtaining an old Book about VB.

Great advice!

If you are not sure whether your machine is ODBC ready. Run a search against your C: Drive, when a reference to ODBC Data Source Admin. is found, go to it. As said above, you will need to physically list your SQL Database/Server and its address to your ODBC Data Source Admin.

Good luck with the project.
