New Project Design Questions
We currently do a ton of tracking and data collection of parents and
children that use our facilities, this includes registration, and a sign in
and out "FORM" each time they visit, plus additional tracking done by the
people on the floor. We'd like to automate as much of the paper work as
possible and save everyone a lot of trouble. The only problem is that we
currently have 10 different sites. So this...

Hi all,
I've read the various posts concerning file access on mapped drives--I
think problem is different:
The problem: Open a VB Winforms project from a mapped drive and all
files open fine except form files. Their code opens fine but trying
to open them in the form designer I get (for instance)
"The item 'MainForm.vb' does not exist in the project directory. It

Current problem deals with three tables in my database. The
"DOCUMENTSLIST" table has a one-to-many relationship to the
junction table (DOCUMENTS/PROJECTS) which, in turn, has a many-to-one
relationship to the "PROJECTS" table.
The tables have the following fields:
DOCUMENTSLIST DOCUMENTS/PROJECTS PROJECTS
Document ID (P key) Documents/Projects ID (P key) Project ID (P key)
Type Project ID (F key) Project Name
DID Number Document...

Hi,
I'm looking for some code to monitor for when an external drive is
connected to a computer (USB ThumbDrive, External Hard Drive, etc.) and
is assigned a drive letter.
I'd want my code to trigger off of the mounting process so I can search
for a specific file on that hard drive (which is always guaranteed to
be in a specific spot).

I was dragging a third party component from the toolbar to drop on
form1, when for some reason Visual Studio gave me an unrecoverable
error and told me to save my work and restart VS. After restarting VS
I reloaded my project and was greeted by "Maximum Number of Errors
has been encountered." The second thing I noticed is that form1.vb
form was now blank. No textblocks, comboboxes,
datagrids...everything I created is now gone. However...

I'm working on a large project(from scratch). The program is
essentially a data file processor, the overall view is this:
A data file is read in, validated and stored in a memory structure
similar to a database or XML representation. Rules to modify the stored
data will be executed, then the data will be transformed into an output
format.
Think something similar to FormatA -> XML -> Manipulate XML -> FormatB

I am new to discussion groups. If my question is not posted to the correct
group please let me know.
I would like to use Microsoft Backup but it doesn't see the USB connected
external drive (F:). Windows explorer does see it. Also I copied successfully
files and folders from C: to the external F: drive.
My environment is Windows XP Service Pack 2.
Any suggestions will be appreciated.
Thanks,

I have hosted the mySql data directory on an external drive for years and I've never had any problems with it. I recently purchased a new external drive and relocated the data directory onto the new drive. Now the mySql service simply won't fire-up. I've done this a million times over the years so the process is not new to me. I have even had success hosting the exact same data directory on a flash/thumb drive with no problems whatsoever. I...

I use this code to export a query to a folder on the desktop and it works fine with Access 2007.
I have to many issues with this in windows XP and office 2010 to get it to work.
I would rather select an external drive name, ie e or f on the parent form, and then the query must export to the selected drive. Is this possible?
The unbound combobox name on main form: "drive"
DoCmd.OpenReport "rptStocktake1", acViewPreview, "", "",...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Adolph will...
