Does anyone know what the command line argumentto launch a
screensaver's options/configuration dialog is on Windows XP Pro?
From most of the example source code I can find on the web, it would
seem to be '/c' but that does not seem to work for the screensaver I
have written. I've tested my code and if '/c' is the first argument
then the options dialog is launched but Windows XP does not seem to be
supplying the '/c' argument when I...

Good Day,
I have a MS Access (Access 2000 now upgraded to 2003) database that
tracks customer information. One function of this database is to
create an encrypted license file for our software, which is then
emailed out to the customer. The encryption string is based on
information in the database and can only be generated by executing a
DOS command. This is done from within the database by clicking a
button on a form that triggers a...

I'd like to pass on the command line two filenames.
As for example:
my_executable filename_1 filename_2
I haven't done any C programming with command line arguments so far.
I'm familiar with fopen, ascii mode, binary mode. What I'm doing
now is specifying the filenames in the source code.

I'm new to this and was wondering what the options are for interpreting the
command line using a CLI program. Specifically methods for interpreting the
parameters passed to the program on the command line.
I noticed that visual studio adds the following for you when creating a new
CLI program:
void main(string args)
{
}

I have a project that I normally build (without problems) from the
DevStudio IDE. However, I have embarked on automating all my builds
(this test project being one of several).
The project creates a DLL. I am able to build the project without any
probs in the IDE, however - when I build the project from the command
line (using the same options shown in the 'Command line' node in the
'Project Settings' dialog box), I get the following...

Hey all,
I have a setup / deployment project that is used to create builds for my web
project. I can very easily invoke this manually, in the IDE, to get the
packaged MSI file.
However, I would like to be able to invoke the packaging of this MSI file
from the command line, so that I can embed it in a script.
Anyone know what this command line statement would be?

Hi,
I am writing a command line application and I would like to implement a
functionality similar to the "!" command in ftp.exe (that comes with most
windows distros) so that I can leave my application running on the background
and return to the cmd prompt, then I can come back to my application by
typing "exit"
any ideas?

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
