Need Macro to Auto reset Printer Settings in Word

1 New Member
I do Tech Support but do not know Visual Basic programming. In order to resolve a work process issue for one of our depts I need a macro that can do the following. I tried to create a macro in Word but it didn't work to reset the printer settings.

Click on File then Print
Click on Properties to get to the Printing Preferences and under
Printing Shortcuts select
Letterhead Setting then
OK and OK again.

Then I need a second macro to do:

Click on File then Print
Click on Properties to get to the Printing Preferences and under
Printing Shortcuts select
General Everyday Printing then
OK and Close

Did you ever get a reply to your query?

I don't know what program you are working in, but assuming it is, say Word 2003, you can create a macro by going into:

Tools
Macro
Record new macro - create a name without spaces or special characters
A macro tool will appear in you document (which can be blank)
Then step through the process as if you are doing the steps for real.
Once you hit the last OK button you then click on the close macro button and it is done.

Test the macro to make sure it works, then once you are happy with it, you can set up as many printing macros as you like...the only thing is you can stop the macro mid way through the printing process...you have to go right to the send to printer stage for the macro to work.

Then one you have your macros you can then decide to create buttons to put onto your menu bars to make life that little easier.

Good luck.

My program right now generates USPS style shipping label using System.Drawing.Graphics. It works fine except that the printer prints really slowly. I want to make my program take advantage of true type fonts. So I assume it's possible to send Font Type and the text to the printer, and the printer should digest and print faster. Still, barcode info needs to be sent as an image. When I print fifty copies of the same label it prints really...

Hi: I know this is a strange question, but I have inherited a system where files are copied and records re auto numbered (as an index field) )frequently, and I am wondering how high the number can go without the system crashing. An ancillary question is how one resets an auto number so that the sequence starts again at 1. In the case of this file, the auto number field serves no useful purpose except as an

My macro is writing to a table(T) and reading a query (Q) based on that table (VBA/Visual Basic 6.3). I cannot write T and read Q in the same execution of the macro, however, if I skip the writing part I can read Q just fine. How does closing the macro reset the state of the system? The SQL for Q is-- SELECT Relatesto.contains, Relatesto.iscontained FROM Relatesto GROUP BY Relatesto.contains, Relatesto.iscontained;

Hello, You can use the PrintDocument component to use the default printer. If you don't specify a printer to the PrintDocument object, by default, it will use the default printer. This is a sample code; private void print_Click(object sender, System.EventArgs

I am trying to print a macro which is really just a bunch of pcl code that represents a form of mine to the printer. I have been able to do this using the winspool.drv api calls so that I can send the macro byte by byte to the printer. The problem is the printer views this as a print job rather than a macro that should be loaded into printer memory. So after a minute or two it delets and or spits out the printjob rather than keeping...

Hi everybody, sorry for my English first of all. I've an ASP page (ASP 3.0) used on an intranet which fill up some particular Mail sheets getting data from a database. Those pre-compiled sheets are then showed in IE 6 for checking and then have to be printed. To correct printing the sheets I have to change the print margins and paper orientation from IE 6 settings. Reading around it looks like I can't change IE 6 print settings without

I am trying to develop a C# program to fill in the blanks in a Word Form. Everything works beautifully while the program is running. I had to go in to fix some links on our Web Site a couple of days later and found any Word Document containing links now shows the code instead of the link. i.e. {HYPERLINK "Executive%20Summary%20for%20CSI.doc"} instead of CSI. I have traced this error down to my program but don't know what is causing it. ...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
