Hi,
My client has a product database od around 20000 items. And it is
updated every few days when he gets a catalog from the supplier.
It's supposed to work like this: if there already is a product in the
database with that ID (primary key), just UPDATE the price, and if
there is no product with that ID it should do an INSERT for that item.
Now I've tried it in several ways and I can't seem to get it to execute

In the web.config file for my application, in the <sessionState>
section I have set timeout="120" (in minutes), but session state
variables in my application seem to be expiring in about 5 minutes.
Any idea what could cause this?
I have the mode="InProc" attribute set for <sessionState>. I know that
some people have solved the problem of session variables timing out too
quickly by changing that attribute, but I cannot use...

Hey Guys,
I've been perusing the newsgroup here for some time now, and going
through my ever so non-helpful book, Microsoft Visual Basic .NET Step by
Step Version 2003, over and over, and I feel like such a dummy. I read you
fella's talking up one side and down the other about streams, and can't for
the life of me get a good grasp of them. I've been reading the articles you
toss around to each other but I can't quite follow them enough...

I know it should be very easy but I am new in ASP so I could not
figured out.
Here is the simplified version of my code:
thePaymentID= request.querystring("IDValue")
SQLqueryPayment= "SELECT sum(paid) as paid, sum(Interest) as interest
FROM payment WHERE payment_ID =" & thePaymentID & ""
dim rstempPayment

I have a table with fixed row of records SORTED by DATE using ADO pagination
method. The user can click a link in one table cell and go to another page
to modify the record. Once the updated record is saved the user will be
redirect back to the table. This time the record updated will be highlighted
so that the user knows where he came from. I basically pass the page number,
column and row number via querystring and store the info in a...

Hi all
Bit of an obscure one this, but hopefully someone will be able to help.
4 years ago we had a potentially catastrophic problem with our Access
database.
From memory it was written in Access 2000, but is now used on Access 2003.
The problem surrounded the Find button created using the wizard. There was
some issue with this procedure and linked tables.

Using ASP.net 1.1
2 QUESTIONS:
1. Why do my write commands not work?
2. This file successfully makes changes in the database record. There
surely is some simple code I could add that would *add* records to this
database. Who can tell me?
<%@ Page Language="VB" Debug="true" %>
<%@ Import Namespace="System.Data.Oledb" %>

Hi,
I plan to import some data from an old DOS-based programme. The data file format that this programme
produced appears to be proprietary, but I've managed to reverse engineer the format and have put
together a C# programme to do this.
The data will be imported into a database table.
Do you have any general tips on how store the data to a database (SQL Server 2005 Express) quickly?
The amount of data could be up to 100Mbytes.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
