Hi

You can use

Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. If App.PrevInstance=True Then
  2.      Msgbox "System is running"
  3. End If

Hi. I am part of a group in my univ where we organize a programming contest. In this contest we have a UDP based server. The server simulates a game and each contestant is to develop a team of virtual players. Each team is composed of 75 similar bots...i.e. governed by the same logic. Thus the contestant submits a single copy of the client and we instantiate the same program 75 times at the same time. The problem is that while executables...

I wonder if anybody could shed some light on a problem I am encountering. I have written a program in C that runs on Solaris 2.8. At busy times of the day there may be multiple instances of it running (5-10), each process taking approx. 3 seconds to complete. Each instance of the program basically fetches data from a Oracle database (using Remedy ARS API routines) and stores it in a user defined structure that I have defined as a...

I just finished a WinForms app in VB.NET. I want to allow the user to be able to run multiple instances of the program like you can with Notepad and Wordpad. The way it is now, once I run the executable I can not run another instance as long as the first instance is running. How can I change this behavior? Thanks.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
