Hi, I have a backup and restore module in my project. The backup uses a typed dataset object (XSD) to get the data from database and creates a xml file as the backup file (using the WriteXml method of dataset). When doing the restore i have to overwrite the data from xml back to database. these are the steps that i follow. 1. get the data from database.

I am using the following code (created by the wizard) to allow to bring my form to a particular entery. But when I edit the entery (ex: put new information into a blank cell), it puts that record onto the bottom of the list (even though it keeps its record number). Also, There are certin names that i click on the list, and it will not bring it up, rather it brings to the first record (no matter how many times i try going to that...

The following code works with a standard MDB to navigate to a particluar record (with a DAO recordset, of course) but it's giving me problems in an ADP I'm working on. Dim rs As ADODB.Recordset Set rs = Me.RecordsetClone rs.Find "=" & lngContractID If Not rs.EOF Then Me.Bookmark = rs.Bookmark I must site the Heisenberb Uncertainty Principal here, as it

I have a subform which is in Continuous Forms view. I have added a button to the bottom of the page to move to the next record using the button wizard (result: DoCmd.GoToRecord , , acNext). I want all of the controls in whatever is the CURRENT record to have it's data bolded on the screen. (Question #1: Is there a SIMPLE way to refer to the Current Record?) I've been trying to use a Bookmark to specify the current record, but it

I have a form with about 25 fields. In the BeforeUpdate event of the form, I have code that sets the default value of each field to its current value. For a new record, I can put the focus in any field to start. If I edit that field and then click on the new record button in the navigation buttons, the form goes to a new record and each field has the default value of the previous record. If I put the focus in any field to start, edit that...

hi, I'm finding this problem most frustrating. (It's probably my lack of undersating of functions!) I want to fill a control in a report with the result of a function. I'm calculating the average of a number of fields for the current record. It all works .. to a point!! Using for and next I can identify the fileds and get the data. All is fine until the fields are empty or null (I'm not quite sure.) all I get back is 'error' in the...

I have a database with several tables, one of which is I use this to bring up a form so you can unlock the record (set by using a yes no box on the data input form to prevent unauthorised tweaking once the record is completed). I would like to move to the last record but 10 to give the form 10 lines of the last entries, rather than one that is achieved by using goto record.... acLast

VS2005 I've been reading all the help I can on the topic (MSDN, other) but I can't make sense of this. Desired behavior; The user is to choose from the displayed list of the databound combobox and the coresponding 'Id' from the lookup table is to be inserted into the field of the new record. I have two simple tables. "tblPerson" is the data table. The lookup

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
