I am not sure, but you can look under references or components.

Although, I do not think you need to do all that if you are attempting to connect an Oracle database. Much like access, you should be able to query your database through VB 6.

You may fetch site for added support. This may have already been asked.

Have a great week-end!

Using Oracle 8i enterprise on win 2000 (sp3) Installed the standard configuration & whenever I make a connection it takes about 10 secs. It's running on a P1900 with 1gb Ram so no reason there for slowness. Once I'm connected the queries work pretty much instantanously but to connect using SQLPLUS, Toad, ODBC, OLEDB all take about 10 secs. I connect using OLEDB from Visual Basic development environment & after the 1st connection...

Hi, I have these 2 problem? Is there a way in Oracle to read UNCOMMITED data. i.e. in Oracle the normal behaviour is that a user's updates to a table are visible to other users ONLY when the user commits. But in Informix there is this thing called ISOLATION LEVELS. For example by setting the ISOLATION LEVEL to DIRTY READ, a user will read dirty data, i.e. the last uncommited updated value of a field by some other user. Is

Hi, I know about stored procedures and that they can speed up data entry via the SQL 'insert ' statement. However, one drawback to this method is that using the stored procedure still requires one to manually and individually enter each and every record to be inserted to the database before the procedure is executed. I want to circumvent this tedium by finding a way to use maybe a VB application that prompts a user for the data to be...

I ran into this Microsoft Patterns & Practices Enterprise Library while i was researching how i can write a database independent data access layer. In my company we already use Data Access Application Block (DAAB) in our .Net projects. We use SqlHelper in SQL based projects, and OracleHelper in Oracle based ones. OracleHelper was not published officially by Microsoft as part of the DAAB but it was given as a helper code in a sample .Net...

Hello, I am a newbie to Oracle databases.... We have a visualization front-end tool connected to an Oracle back-end database on a Tru64 UNIX server. We also have clients with MS access databases who would like to share their data using this visualization tool but do not want to import their data into the Oracle server back-end.

I scoured the groups for some hands on code to perform the menial task of exporting table data from an Access 2000 database to Oracle database (in this case, it was oracle 8i but i'm assuming this will work for 9i and even 10g ) No one had what I needed, so I wrote it myself. I Rule. This code isn't going for efficiency, and isn't trying to be dynamic. It doesn't create the table structure in Oracle, that's up to you. (I

Hi All, I've had Access 97, 2000 connections to the corporate Oracle database for a few years now - but seldom use it. When I did use it years ago, performance was not fast but the features were good enough. Now, the version of Access is 2003 with Office SP1 applied, Windows XP against Oracle 9.2. And attached tables are real slow - 5 mins to get to datasheet view and data is incorrect - the same row is repeated several times even in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
